You should have seen the back and forth email thread I had with Customer Service back when I first reported this issue, (before I got ahold of Kate here)

1) I reported the problem.
2) They came back telling me to "click here and here to get them".
3) I reported back that the "click here and here" didn't exist for this Match.
4) They would respond telling me that "Oh you must have not sent any emails to the Match, so there are no emails to view.
5) I would respond back saying that I can absolutely positively guarentee that I sent and received "X" amount of emails from said Match.

At that point, they just decided to punt, because they simply didn't care.
So the next response from them was #2 (from above) again.

Because I was amused by the fact they bounced back to that answer, I sent #3 again.
And guess what, they sent me #4 in response!

I allowed this loop to go on for about 3-4 times, (thus about 12+ emails between me and eH support), before I decided enough was enough, and just contacted Kate here instead.

(Did I mention how much I appreciate having Kate and Renee here??? )

I have no idea why their Customer Service is so poor these days.
(It is a shame too, they USED to be really good!)

As far as I am aware, they aren't farming it out to overseas, so that isn't the reason.

All I can speculate is that they had a lot of turnover (or layoffs?) and lost all their good reps, and now have a bunch of lowly paid people that just simply don't care.
I suspect that what they've done, since no one is allowed to use the service if they work at eHarmony, is create a cookbook set of responses. Ie, if the match says this, then send them this response. If they say that, send them this one.

They are fine as long as all problems stick to the known script and not so fine if it's something not covered by the cookbook.

Customer Care is really awful these days. Emailing is terrible because I'm also convinced that they only pick up on a few phrases here and there. I've had several instances where they've completely missed the point of what I was trying to say. I've also seen a trend lately of putting a lot of blame on the customer rather than trying to come up with a useful response.

The last time I called, I asked about getting a better deal than I was getting at the time. My better offer was to pay more per month than I was paying at the time. The rep simply did not comprehend that was not a better deal and even tried to defend it when I asked how paying more a month was a better deal.

It didn't used to be this way. In the past, I found the customer service to be outstanding. I don't know what happened, but there seems to have been a seismic shift in how to help people. Right now, it feels like eHarmony all but resents the actual paying customers and would much rather worry about taking care of potential customers.
