Oh just stab my head with pitchforks! I went to all the trouble of getting an ex-match-now-friend to TEST whether he could see that I viewed him - he couldn't - before allowing myself to view the closed-Almost-Boyfriend's profile. Which, since I THOUGHT my views were hidden, I view almost daily!! What????!

Stifle the you-are-a-sick-stalker criticism! Gave up cigarettes, gave up psychopharmaceuticals, Gr6Guy please insert the correct term for that, hardly ever drink, I let myself use the internet only i I'm on my treadmill, I just wanted one little secret vice... He KNOWS I'm checking his profile? He sees how often I view him? Gee, thanks, EH. I am putting my head in the oven NOW.
There is nothing wrong with viewing a closed profile. Gee, eH actually told you the problem was with your computer? This is one of the rare times eH admitted the problem was on its side. I believe the next time eH will admit that is when Halley's comet reappears - mid-2061. OK I'm exaggerating - eH will admit it around 2050 probably.

What's wrong with viewing a closed profile? Getting "caught" at it!!!! The situation was a pretty fine LDR at about the 4 or 5 month mark, but I'm too vain and stubborn to ever ask anybody for exclusivity, and this guy was, too, or else he's been coached by our resident Jack. (That is, folks, a joke.) So it all exploded one fine day, end of story, except that EH has been broadcasting my supposedly secret lingering curiosity to the guy ever since., as in every time he checks his "Who's Viewed Me" tab. We closed each other; views by closed matches are not supposed to show up anywhere. So: egg on face, crow for dinner, not my favorite position.

EH did not say the problem was with my computer. EH did not acknowledge that any problem exists. EH contacted me to say that my reaction to the unacknowledged problem - blank spaces in my posts where expletives belonged but were not expressed by me- was problematical for them. For them.

Who cares? If I close a match, and he chooses to view me daily, I don't care. Maybe it makes me feel better to know that for him, I am "the one that got away".

I prefer to do my ex-stalking via Facebook. I had to unfriend an ex after he dumped me, but I still view his profile once in a while, just to see how he is doing, how many FB friends he has, harmless little things like that. FB has no sort of "who viewed my profile" function due to privacy laws. Maybe eHarmony should take a lesson from them.

paint, I'm a bit confused at your last post. Since I was the one sending you the warning about blank spaces in spots where profanity would normally be.

I am not an employee of eH, I am a member, like you, who is a Voluntary Community Leader. I moderate threads and posts, issue warnings when needed and start threads on topics at times. I can't answer specific account related questions, nor would I want to.

If you want to address the issue with an employee who can help you with your closed match views you can contact Customer Care. You can also PM Lori, Renee or Kate about issues and they can help.

Be not confused. Hall monitors, HOAs, eh board volunteers are a "them", not an "us". I'd say about a hundred years of case law on agency back me up, but some fool would play devil's advocate and post a contrary brief, and what fun is that?
