Oh yeah, I guess I was making a distinction between pseudonyms and aliases. So you've had matches with pseudonyms that you've closed after communication or meeting based on them using a different name?
Nope.
I don't meet them or even communicate with them..at all.
My name's there, so your first name better be there, as well.
That's my policy.

Some people just have too many rules! This is the internet, noone owes anybody anything. To me whether a person uses their real name, fake name or nickname doesn't really matter as long as when I ask you for it (probably during OC) you give it to me. And a first name would be good enough. I would only require the last name once we start planning to meet offline.

I wrote that in a hurry without verifying all the details were correct. My Apologies.

Anyway, to change your city, go to:

My Settings->Distance->My City Note: This is a seperate field from your zip code so the "City" doesn't have to be real. I use a regional description that is more accurate than my true zip code reflects.

I thought you could change your name in the same area but that is not correct.

You MIGHT be able to change it here (but it might also screw things up).

My Settings->Account Settings->General Information->First Name:

Depending on how they set it up, it could flow back to the match profile and change your name. OR it could screw up your credit card renewal.

Anybody try to change their name this way?
I ended up contacting customer service about changing this and they said it doesn't work to do it that way unfortunately. They had no problem changing it for me and did so within a day. I was really surprised it was kind of easy. I changed mine from a nickname/pseudonym to my real name which matches my payment info, so maybe that's why. I'm sure it's probably not easy to change it to something inconsistent with your payment info.

That's my policy. ...[snip]...well color me reactionary...but I'm guessing "Miss D" isn't the name on their SS card.
Not even if her pseudonym was "Miss Double D"?

And yes, dating to me means you've got to at least put yourself out there, a bit...and that(for me anyway).. kinda starts with your first name.
But, I'm with you here, Thinker. When I was on EH, I never took the matches with initials or some obviously bogus name seriously. Even on the other sites where a screen name is used instead of a real name, I do judge matches based on their screen names, such as "MarriedButLooking" or "IDontReallyCare". (For the record, those are instant "Nos" for me).

So "Mr. Big" would be okay?
