Today I saw the TV commercial advertising the free communication weekend starting from Friday November 5th till Monday November 15. Very surprisingly Eharmony is staying very quiet about it and nowhere on the web site is posted info about this upcoming weekend?
From what I saw I don't think it is going to be much different from the past free weekends- User can only communicate to each other thru the phases of guided communication process and no pictures will be visible/ shown to those who didn't pay. Interesting also I saw the commercial during the half time of soccer games from the Champions League- i.o.w if you are a fan of the soccer, you are fan of EH too, perhaps that is why their commercial is broadcasted on soccer channels only
I would like to ask the moderators of this site to put more light towards the upcoming free comm. weekend and to thank them in advance.

Not surprising it's targeted to new members and existing members don't see it on the web site.

The minute I saw the ad I turned "matching" off to avoid an inbox full of zombies, deadheads, window shoppers and no photo gibberish profiles.

I don't want my profile sent to the what-the-heck, freebie crowd to entice these people to join / pay because they have real profiles to "browse your Matches for free!".

It's the only recourse a paying member has to prevent having your profile used as a selling point and sent to who knows who.

And as soon as you turn matching back on you'll have an inbox full of zombies, deadheads, window shoppers and no photo gibberish profiles... So what have you gained?

My theory is that the proverbial 99% of all these "new members" are just career-free-dating-site-people who are at least several degrees of magnitude more maladjusted than us... So what has eH gained? They're actually diluting their pool of us normal-slightly-maladjusted-seriously-looking-for-someone-people with toxic assets! (UH-OH, maybe eH has been taken over by the Federal Reserve! )

OK. Thank you!
I wrote my article after I saw the TV commercial, and because nothing was mentioned anywhere on the web, except for Eh Advice boards.

If you are an active paying member just because you have turned off matching during the Free non-Communication Event does not mean that you will not get the zombies, deadheads, window shoppers and no photo gibberish profiles. After the F non-CE is over and you turn matching back on you will get matched to all those non-paying members who had participated in the F non-CE and did not remove their profile before you turned matching back on. IME that will be 99.9% of them.

If you are a paying member and do not actively participate at all times then the only person you are hurting is yourself. If your time is too precious that the few seconds that it takes to send or answer questions in the Guided Communication process is too much of a burden then you probably don't have time to date anyway.

Nope. Like flotsam and jetsam, they drift around the system for years washing up on inboxes the world over as "new matches", ad infinitum ad nauseum, just like the one I received a while back: "My photos are all recent..." YEAH, recent BABY, they're all date-stamped "2006"! TIMEWARP!!!
