Wow, it's cool that people here give advice on profiles. I'm new to this online dating concept so I would very much appreciate your help.

The one thing I am most passionate about:
I have a passion for learning new skills and ideas. I like to find something that I've never tried before and master it.

The most important thing I am looking for in a person is:
The ability to be good to others as well as themselves.

Basic Information
Occupation: Software
Age 26
Height 5' 11"
Wants Kids: Maybe
Kids at Home: No
Ethnicity White, non-Hispanic
Religion: Neither religious nor spiritual
Drinks: Several times a week
Smokes: A few times a year

In my own words

The most influential person in my life has been:
I had a biology teacher in high school who was quite good at lecture. I did have quite a passion for the science. Ultimately, I went another route in education and my career, but I do remember how well he conveyed information and presented the subject. At times, I have tried to steer my career in the direction of biology because of my interest in it. Who knows? Maybe something new will pop up.

The three things which I am most thankful for:
* My Kindle (formerly my library card--gotta love technology)
* Knowing how to enjoy life, try new things, taste new cuisines and not fear the unknown
* Good health

Three of my best life-skills are:
* Finding creative solutions to everyday problems
* Using humor to make friends laugh
* Achieving personal goals

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:
That I have something on my face (when I have something on my face).

The things I can't live without are:
* A fast bicycle
* Red wine
* The internet
* Either my book collection or my Kindle
* Proximity to water

The first thing people notice about me:
People have considered me creative in the way I handle problems and come up with ideas. Obviously, I would be the last one to be able to judge this.
Some additional information I want you to know:

I'm looking forward to meeting new people and experiencing new adventures.
My interests

I typically spend my leisure time:
I have been interested in fitness quite a bit lately. I've lost 40 pounds in the last 6 months. Soon, it'll be 50. I enjoy cycling and am participating in cyclocross events. It's important to me to always improve myself so I try to learn something new every six months. I do enjoy cooking and like to experiment with new techniques. I've amused myself lately investing in stocks (not going very deep).

The last book I read and enjoyed:
I've enjoyed books on stock/commodity market investing strategies. I'm reading one on commodities that's fun. Amazing how you can apply some of those concepts for other uses. Other than that, I've really enjoyed Phillip Dick's science fiction. Flow My Tears the Policeman Said is gripping. Detached reality has been rehashed so many times, but he does it right.

According to my friends:

My friends describe me as:
* Funny
* Ambitious
* Rational
* Intelligent

Great well written profile. Are all the sections / questions filledout, if not just add that...you'll do fine.

Very enjoyable profile. Well written in a nice informal style, funny in places, has enough info.

The only thing I'd suggest is giving an example in your "passions" section. Your answer is a little terse and vague, and this is the first section matches see.

hi, nice profile! also, great work on the fitness bit; that's a great accomplishment and i think including it in your profile makes you seem like a more "real" person, in that you've been motivated to make some changes to your lifestyle and you're enjoying great results.

i would suggest something less generic in this section, though:

Some additional information I want you to know:

I'm looking forward to meeting new people and experiencing new adventures.

hope that's helpful feedback.
