Anonymous views--grandfathered?

I still have the "show my views as anonymous views" option in my settings, so that led me to believe I may have been grandfathered in with this no longer available feature. Can someone tell me just what is the status with this feature, and if there are no more anaonymous views, why do I still have the setting?

Yep some members have been grandfathered..

More than likely eH doesn't want to upset some of the long-time subscribers who are still using it.

While newer subscribers wouldn't miss it because they never had.

I was grandfathered initially, then it magically disappeared one day. My guess is that it went poof when I changed some other setting in the same area (distance, for example).

Hi nunayabizness,

TrekRyder10 is correct. At the time that we transitioned away from making anonymous views available, if a member already had that option selected their account was "grandfathered" and that option is still in affect.

confusion.

about 2 months ago the anon view preference was gone for me as a setting, so i called customer service. they told me it was GONE for everyone, that no one is grandfathered anymore. we were grandfathered for awhile but then we weren't anymore. I didn't change that preference before it disappeared.

i wonder why some people still have it as a setting, given what i was told.

i have complained several times on these boards, and once to customer service, about making this change without telling paid members.

would love to know if someone finds out for sure that they are still grandfathered. they told me noone is grandfathered thus we are all seeing all views. that is important because many of us are assuming, based on what EH has said, that those who do not view are completely dead matches (as opposed to maybe anonymous).

Zombie , Deadhead, Archived and Closed matches know the disappear / reappear trick too........lol...

That’s right –

For those “grandfathered” into anonymous views, the setting for changing from “Anonymous” to “Show My Views” on the Basic Preferences settings tab was removed and then later re-added.


So now those who are grandfathered in can make a grand appearance if they wish to.

Seems crazy that EH doesn't make this option (anonymous viewing) available to everyone anyway? They need to realize that it's important they don't become like all the other dating sites where privacy when using the application is not an option.

Hi Getting_There -

How do you know you lost your anonymous views? Did one of your matches say something? Or are your "Anonymous/Show My Views" settings missing from the Basic Preferences tab?
