I had a couple of people initiate the guided communication process with me. I answered their questions and sent back 5 questions, then was prompted to send my MH/CS list.

My questions:
Are there "turns" in guided communication? Will the conversation go nowhere unless I send my list, or does it give the other person a chance to send theirs?

If one person initiates contact and the other person never answers the first five questions, is the communication over, or are there further avenues to pursue?

I'm a little unsure of how Icebreakers interact with guided communication. Is an Icebreaker just a quick message that starts the communication process, and the recipient of the Icebreaker has to make the next move?

Thank you for any help offered.

either person can initiate GC..but it is a back and forth process that you can't really control..steps are followed, until you get to OC.

you can send them an email at any time, but if they respond to it..I think it nukes the GC communication process(you can't go back to GC)and you have to stay in email,(or agree to meet)

you can send questions without sending icebreakers...non paying can only send icebreakers..
Ice breakers are just that..you're hoping they either start GC with you, they start it or you do.. or they agree to talk with you in email..
I think more women send them than guys, but it may be evenly split, across the board.. when you consider non paying can only communicate that way.
I don't bother with them myself.
like I said, though..if she(or you) sends an icebreaker, and then the match sends an email back..whomever responds..you can't go back to GC.
keep that in mind.

Basically the idea is to take turns going back and forth through the guided communication.

sngledad, yes, until you send your list they cannot send theirs. It is a turn taking situation giving each person a chance to close if they don't like what they read in the answers or the lists.

Just look for the prompts of who's turn it is to communicate. When you're waiting on a response in guided communication...they need to reply before communication can move forward.

Ice breakers are kinda useless as they just delay the process of getting to know someone. It's mainly for free members or someone that doesn't want to start the communication process by sending questions. A lot of members simply ignore those that send ice breakers for that reason.

EH is aback and forth system where you send the first questions..then they answer and then send their questions....then you read their answers and then send MH/CS...they view those and send you theirs...you view theirs and then send 3 Q...they answer 3Qs and then send you their...you read ansswers and then answer their question...they answer questions and then initiate Open communiation.

During open communication you can send then 3 seperate emails in a row if you want..there is no back and forth required.

Dont do icebreakers...nonpayer/nonmembers can do icebreakers so it says to them you are a nonmember.

Thank you all for the replies. I have a follow-up question:
If the "Next Steps" on my page says it's my turn, if I do not send the next stage on then the communication dies on the vine, like a pocket veto?

If the answer to that is yes, is there a time limit on how long that match stays in the Communicating tab?
