Has anyone been closed out or close a match out then a month later recieve the match again?

I think it happened with two matches today and they again closed me out. One closed me out after I sent the questions. The other closed me out after looking at my profile a few times. I sent him the questions too.

I'm starting to realize who will close me out when I get matched now. Its sad really. I knew they both would.

Thanks.

Hi SL.
When you got the matches the 2nd time, were they identical to the 1st time?

Are the closed matches from the 1st time still in your closed folder?

They were identical from the first matches but I didn't see them in my closed file when I got sent them the second time. I was pretty sure that I totally closed them out.

I check the archive file every day to clean out the matches that I don't want and close them and to close out matches that have closed me out.

Who knows but I swore I have read their profiles before. I also see that you can reopen a match. Don't know if that is what happened on their side or not.

Hi Soilderlover,

So just to understand: when you received these matches a second time, they didn’t appear in a search on your Closed tab? So in another words it appears that these matches were sent to you twice, and were not transferred from the Closed tab to the New tab?

If the closed match no longer appears on your Closed matches tab, it may be that he did re-open the match. But if that is the case, it’s strange that the match closed again.

If the closed match still appears on your Closed tab as well as the New tab, it’s probably because the match signed up a duplicate account for eHarmony, and consequently got re-matched. Creating more than one eHarmony account is actually a violation of the Terms of Service. As you can see, it can be confusing and it’s a waste of time for people to get re-matched instead of continuing to get fresh matches.

To know for sure if these matches are duplicates, you can go to your Archive tab, then click on the Close link, and then do a search with the matches’ names. If this is a duplicate match and not a match that re-opened, your match’s name and location will appear in a list on the Close tab.

Sorry that you anticipated the close. I hope you don’t let that discourage you, because some matches will surprise you.

All the best,

~Kate

There are some funky things going on - someone I closed a month ago (who also closed me) was shown on my list as someone who viewed me today. I thought closed matches (as someone we can't communicate with anymore anyway) wouldn't show

Hi Lunabeach –

You're right that you're not supposed to see views of closed matches. I can confirm that through you great folks on Advice, we were made aware of closed matches showing up on the Match Updates and Who’s Viewed Me. We’re currently looking into it.

Thanks for bringing it up.

So you’re saying that after you’ve received the match the second time, and after you’ve closed them “back” (putting them on your closed tab), you then do a search on the close tab and only see the match one time?

Sorry to sound nit-picky here, but I want to make sure I understand what’s going on with your matching.

Thanks!

I didn't click on the profiles to view them but I only see one with that name and location so unless they use different names then yes there is only one with that name and city in the closed section so therefore I would have to assume they got sent once.

I'd rather love someone I can't have than have someone I can't love.
