T"he one thing I am most passionate about: I'm very passionate about my political beliefs and my belief that it is our obligation as people to help our fellow man however we can. That is also an expression of my faith which is important.I'm very enviromentally concious.I like listening to all types of music.I'm very close to my father, hes my best friend.I like different world cultures and languages and one of my dreams is to travel around the world.I'm a big time book worm, I think reading is very important.I love detective and horror novels particularly.I'm also into keeping healthy, I've lost a lot of weight,I work out and I don't eat meat.

The most important thing I am looking for in a person is: The most important quality is definitely kindness and understanding.I think other good things in a person, and in a relationship, flow from that."

"
The most influential person in my life has been:

Jesus.I know its a very common answer, but finding faith has really balanced me out in a lot of ways over the last year.I find it easier to deal with things and keep a balanced view.I find myself much more optimistic than I used to be.The main thing though that Jesus Christ has influenced me in is compassion for others.I was a kind person before I was a Christian but I hadn't found compassion for giving back and truly helping others. Its part of what led me to decide I want to become an x-ray tech and eventually a nurse, to help others.
The three things which I am most thankful for:
  • I am thankful for my family.Especially my father.
  • I am thankful for my intelligence and kindness & compassion for others.
  • I'm thankful for the blessings I've had in life, like food, shelter etc.
Three of my best life-skills are:
  • Understanding local, national, and world events
  • Volunteering my time to causes I care about
  • Remaining calm yet resilient during a crisis

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:

That I really care.A lot of times shy/aloof people are assumed to be selfish or unempathetic it seems.Thats not me at all.

The things I can't live without are:
  • My family.
  • My dog, Oscar.(hes a brown miniature Dachsun)
  • My faith.
  • Books.
  • MSNBC!It balances out the garbage from FOX.

The first thing people notice about me:

I'm a bit aloof in public.I am trying to be more outgoing than I naturally am though.

Some additional information I want you to know:

I'll be up front and honest in saying that I've never dated before."

"
My interests

I typically spend my leisure time:

In my spare time I love to sit down, read and get transported into a story.Reading is the ultimate mental and imagination exercise.I also love listening to music and just relaxing, hanging out.And the most important thing for me, to spend my spare time, is volunteering. Its very, very rewarding and fulfilling. If you ever complain of feeling bored and empty, get out and volunteer! Help out.It connects you to people I think, rather than always doing something at home or just for yourself.

The last book I read and enjoyed:

Well right now I'm reading The Glass Rainbow by James Lee Burke. Its a detective novel in the series about the Cajun detective, Dave Robicheaux.I love how Burke so eloquently and perfect describes the cane fields, swamps, marshes and bayous of South Louisiana. He really paints a picture in the mind. The way he describes the food, the smell, sights and sounds, the feeling of it all.He has a great insight into every character he writes and human nature. And Robicheaux is a great main character, flawed but with a great heart and a view of the world in many ways very similar to my own.

According to my friends:

My friends describe me as:
  • Kind
  • Quiet
  • Perceptive
  • Intelligent

"

Ok theres what I have on my profile. If you guys want to give any suggestions on that.

Pick one of these, and explain why and how you feel passionate about it...too many choices and it looks like you can't decide, know what I mean??

This should be about an actual person who has influenced you, like one of your parents, a sibling, or a teacher...your pastor maybe??...it's got to be concrete so the person can relate to it.
(I'd put all this stuff you wrote in the"more about me" section, personally.)

this sounds defensive...don't label yourself in a negative way, which is how this comes across...explain the positive without accentuating the negative, always.

I wouldn't say this...
try:
Hmmm?? maybe that sometimes I appear aloof, when out in public...but I'm really not! You can talk to me anytime!

Some additional information I want you to know:

I'll be up front and honest in saying that I've never dated before."
Noooo..take this out.

Put in the details about your faith, here.

Good. Just clean up the punctuation errors, as there are a few...make sure you use spell check.
