Hi everyone,
I would love it if someone would take a look at my profile content and provide some feedback. I feel really stuck right now. Please help. Thanks in advance.

I would read some of the other profiles review people posted, also see the profile workshops at the top of the forum, they address each question and it may just give you a few ideas for your own profile..

The one thing I am most passionate about:
I am passionate about my family, cooking and art.

Everyone says family.. since this is the first thing a potential match sees you want to write something that will grab there attentions. I would expand on the cooking and art.

The most important thing I am looking for in a person is:
The most important qualities I am looking for in a man are honesty, kindness, and good character.

This is okay..

My circle of college friends. Each one of them is so inspiring to me.
Okay but maybe pick one or tell us how a few of them inspired you

The three things which I am most thankful for:
I am most thankful for my spirituality.
I am so thankful for my happy, healthy son.
I am also grateful for my ability to overcome adversity.

Three of my best life-skills are:
Finding creative solutions to everyday problems
Raising and/or caring for children
Maintaining a network of close friends

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:
Since, I am really very shy, people rarely know that I have a great sense of humor.

and I still don't know since you have no humor in your profile. you can't say it.. you need to show it..
The things I can't live without are:
My son.
Coffee in the morning.
My friends and family.
Laughter.
My planner.

I already know you family and your son are important to you.. give me something to keep my attention.. up to this point it's nothiing be repeating yourself..

The first thing people notice about me:
First, that I am shy. Secondly, people tell me I have a great laugh.

you already said shy in another answer. expand on you laugh or pick something else.. ask one of your friends.

Some additional information I want you to know:
Not at the moment.

Cop-out answer either tell us something or leave it blank and it won't show up on your profile..This is a great place to shine by using humor or being serious..

what kind of activities?.. pick a few and expand tell me more grab my attention..

Hi CreativeNan,

I agree with Trek's suggestions. Add more detail and allow whatever it is that makes you who you are shine through more.

I know it is hard to write a profile. Just remember that, aside from your photos, this is all that potential matches know about you. Make it stand out!

Good luck!

Not much to comment on here. Nothing grabs my attention and would make me want to contact you. No real insight into your life, no real passion, and you didn't even bother to answer all the questions.

As Trek said, don't write about being shy. Do you think guys are waiting for eH to match them up with a shy woman?

The job of the profile is to introduce yourself in an interesting way. Would you be interested in your profile? I'm guessing not. But everyone is an interesting person somehow. Write about your interests and life, using upbeat and conversational language.

First , answer the questions, and elaborate why. College friends? why?
Try to really read the question and answer it.
My son, my family mentioned way too much, he wants to date you not be an instant step father / son-in-law.
Shy shy shy mentioned way too much.
From what comes across in your profile: You are painfully shy, there's no room in your life for anyone other than your son and family.
Is this what you want to convey? rethink how you would like to come across and keep in mind the idea is to attract a man, no?

Thank you guys.

I appreciate the thoughtful responses. I do appreciate new perspective. I knew I needed to liven up my profile. What I didn't know is that I come across as someone who painfully shy and is looking for an instant step dad. Yikes!

I am not painfully shy, just quiet at times ( I am usually observing).
I am definitely not looking for instant anything, so I will consider all suggestions for my profile makeover... with humor.

One more question...Does is appear "flaky" to matches when they may see drastic changes in a profile?

So I did some updating. I got a few views. I then got up enough nerve to initiate communication with recent matches. Two closed me out. One responded.
We are at the MHCS.. One of his CS is me. In the past, I have closed at this point, but I think I will test the waters with this one.

Occupation:Special Education Teacher Age 41
Height 5' 4"
Wants Kids:Yes
Kids at Home:Yes
Ethnicity White, non Hispanic
Religion: Christian
Drinks:About once a week
Smokes:Never
The One Thing I am most Passionate About:
I am passionate about many things. I love to be around people, especially family and friends. I love to cook. I have a few favorites, but I really enjoy trying out new recipes. Art, in any form is also a passion of mine. I like to create as well as appreciate other's talents.
o

The most important thing I am looking for in a person is:

r in a The am looking for in a person is:

The most important qualities I am looking for in a man are honesty, kindness, and good character.

The most influential person in my life has been:

My circle of college friends has influenced me. Each woman inspires me spiritually, intellectually, physically and creatively. This joyful group is full of wise souls as well as wise crackers and I love them for that!

The three things which I am most thankful for:
  • I am most thankful for my spirituality.
  • I am so thankful for my happy, healthy son.
  • I am also grateful for my ability to overcome adversity.
Three of my best life-skills are:
  • Sharing my beliefs through teaching, participation, and example
  • Raising and/or caring for children
  • Maintaining a network of close friends
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:

People tend to view me as a serious person, but I wish they would realize I have a sense of humor.

The things I can't live without are:
  • My son.
  • Coffee in the morning.
  • My friends and family.
  • Laughter.
  • My planner.
The first thing people notice about me:

People tell me I have a great laugh. I happen to agree. I hear it often.

Some additional information I want you to know:

Although, I am a single parent to my young son (I really work hard to be the best mom I can be for him), and I do work with kids, I absolutely make time in my life for fun and adventure, adult style. Just ask!

typically spend my leisure time:
I seek out cultural events. I enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, bicycling, day trips and weekend getaways. A wine tasting event? I'm there! I enjoy exploring new territories. I also enjoy quiet time by myself or with a loved one
The last book I read and enjoyed:

I read a lot of children's literature and professional articles. Right now I am reading a novel, The Liars Club, by Mary Karr. It is an interesting read about scandal and dysfunction within the family. I have also recently read, Date or Soul Mate. I found it helpful.

My friends describe me as:
  • Genuine
  • Caring
  • Intelligent
  • Hard Working

This is a great response, but the question specifically asked for ONE thing that you are most passionate about and that would appear to be cooking. Give some examples of what a great cook you are and “sneak in” the other things you are passionate about. For example:

“My single passion above all others is cooking! I’m a great cook and I love to share my talent by preparing meals for family and friends. I often get compliments on my culinary wonders as well as my experimental recipes. My apron says, the way to my heart is through my kitchen.” o

The most important thing I am looking for in a person is:
"The most important qualities I am looking for in a man are honesty, kindness, and good character."

This is okay, but here is your chance to paint a picture of what kind of person you are really looking for.
“The most important quality I look for in a man is good character. Someone with good character knows the value of honesty and his word is as solid as his reputation. I value character because it requires genuineness and wisdom; and, good character is always the result of understanding the value of kindness and compassion for others.”
You’ve got a lot to offer far beyond what any words can describe - - I wish you the best of luck and I hope you find someone truly as wonderful as you are!
