I'm a little confused and a wee bit frustrated as well. I am on eh Canada, and need a little help here please. When I filled out my profile section regarding kids, one of the questions was...

Are you willing to accept matches who have kids 18 yrs or younger living at home? The only options are yes or no, no maybe. I selected yes.

It also asks if I have children at home- No.

So, my question here is WHY does my profile show
Wants kids: No
when I specifically said that I would accept matches with kids.

I fear this could be turning away matches who have kids.

Can''t anything be done about this?
There seems to be a lot of people frustrated with this, is anyone there listening to us?

I'd rather love someone I can't have than have someone I can't love.

You should be able to change that in your settings tab.

Aah! OK, I found the maybe tab, I obviously was looking in the wrong place. However, it kind of appears that I possibly would like to HAVE kids which is a big NO. But at least it doesn't say no anymore.

Thanks

Isn't that the whole purpose of the "Wants Kids" section of your profile? That is to say, when a match reviews your profile they can know if YOU want to HAVE kids in the future?

here's how I understand it. When eHarmony asks you "Do you want to have kids in the future" and you say No, that means on your profile it will read "Wants Kids: No"

When eHarmony asks you "Would you date someone who already has kids at home, 18 or younger" and you say "Yes I would" that doesn't actually appear on your profile.. It is simply one of those hidden criteria that eHarmony uses to find you matches.

And lastly, when eHarmony asks you if you yourself actually HAVE kids at home 18 or younger, and you say No, then on your profile that answer will appear as: "Kids at home: No".

So from my understanding, you're misinterpreting the meaning of "Wants kids: No". It doesn't mean that you don't want to date someone with kids, it means you yourself don't want to have kids in the future... So you should change that "maybe" to a "No", since you definitely don't want kids.

Gotcha! Thanks for expanding. I've changed it back to no.
