I saw on TV that they were having a free 10 day communication but missed the dates, and I see nothing on the website about it. Anyone know when it is?

I believe Oct 1- 10 in the U.S.
I think it's Free GUIDED communication.

oh great! Only 3 days left, the same as a lousy 3 day weekend now. That is usually not time enough to even get to open communication.

Instead of making things better and easier to use, they make it harder. Now in order to close a match you have to archive them first, and then go back and close them out. It just takes too much time and is no longer worth the effort, especially if you have 30 matches built up. And then most are inactive users anyway. I have no idea what people think up these new ideas, but they certainly do not listen to the people using EH. You can't even put a reason for closing the match anymore.

This is correct it is a Free non-Communication Event week (10 days). You can only go through the Guided Communication process but have to pay to go on to Open Communication (eHarmony mail). I did not participate in the last one and am not participating in this one either. It is a waste of time to try and communicate with people that I am quite sure I will never get to the point of meeting.

It is entirely possible to go through the Guided Communication process and have gotten to Open Communication in an hour if both people are interested in getting to the OC stage. Of course for this Free non-Communication Event it is a moot point since you can't get to OC until you pays your money. Waste of your time and mine to even bother.

It would seem that you have been away from both eHarmony and the Advice site for awhile. These changes went down 7 or 8 months ago. The changes were supposedly made because eHarmony "listens to their users", not sure who these users are as it doesn't seem they were any who participate on the Advice boards. There have been many posts on the stupidity of Archive feature. Many people just use the Archive folder as their "closed" folder, which of course leaves their match wondering why there is no communication from their match.

Just in case you care, Chemistry is having a Free Communication Weekend beginning tomorrow (October 8th) and going through Sunday.
