Is anyone else getting a glut of 'matches not available', by that I mean you click to read the person's profile and you get the message "We're sorry; this member's profile is no longer available."?

I've been in various stages of communication with matches, one in particular I requested a photo (we hadn't started GC yet), got an email later that day to say a photo had been posted and when I checked (about half an hour later), I got the profile no longer available message. Seems odd when the match just added the photo an hour or two earlier!

Yeah, just seems a little strange that someone would post a photo then 1/2 hr later their profile is gone. Surely they just wouldn't bother.

Oh well, the joys of internet dating! lol

nothing should surprise you with e-dating.

here is another possibility.. the photo wasn't real, meaning they uploaded a photo of a celebrity or santa ( yes they sometimes get aprroved) another match caught this a reported it.. profile removed!

Since you weren't in GC with said match, you didn't receive the canned email that the match was removed by eH.

I'd rather love someone I can't have than have someone I can't love.

I've had the same issue. People shortly after viewing my profile and I get that message. I'm guessing it's another glitch.

I've gotten that a couple times. Since you can be on it for free, yes non-active profiles exist.
What you are describing is :
1) Eharmony removed it for a violation of terms, either because someone reported it or eH picked up on it.
2) The person removed quickly themselves, they may be "just checking" what it's about , then said nah.

Here's the weirdest: there was recently a thread here where a woman admitted to setting up a fake profile to see if her date was actively using the site

I am probably one of those people who closes out profiles faster than the match has a chance to review mine. I access the site using my iphone, and so I am pretty quick to determine if there is chemistry or not based on information in the profile. If a match does not respond within 24 hrs., which is the case 99% of the time, I close it out. If a person is too busy to make the effort to respond to initiated communication, then they're too busy to date. So why bother!

I have been on eHarmony for a very long time and very seldom ever got this message. Within this year I have been getting it quite frequently. It indicates that the match has deleted their profile.

I also frequently get matches that I have sent a photo nudge to, post their photo and then close as soon as I have sent First Questions. Just a day or two ago I did experience the same thing as you where the match posted a photo and then removed their profile. I did find this odd and now that it does not seem to be a totally isolated incident I wonder if this is yet another bug in the eHarmony system.

Do what you want. Being so quick to close just means there is less competition for the rest of us.

Hi Vax72,

I think the possible reasons for this occurrence have pretty much been named. People can change their minds at the drop of a hat due to cold feet, etc. However, it wouldn’t hurt if you wanted to check with Customer Care in case of some unusual tech issue: eHarmony Support Home Page (I gave you the UK link since that’s where you are).

TrekRyder10 – believe it or not, there are people out there (and members of eHarmony) who look like Santa Claus, so please cut our photo review team some slack.

All the best,

~Kate
