I've been working on my profile for the last few weeks, still receiving varying mixed results. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!!

The one thing I am most passionate about:

I have a passion for cooking and experimenting with new recipes. I've been cooking since I was a kid with my mother, and expanded from there. I've taken various cooking classes over the years to better my knowledge in the culinary arts. I'm pretty good with American, Italian and various see food entrées. I also make some great appetizers and desserts as well. I always get a sense of satisfaction after creating a delicious meal.

The most important thing I am looking for in a person is:

A woman whom knows how to communicate her feelings. Whether good or bad, positive or negative, communication is key for any successful relationship.

The most influential person in my life has been:

Hard for just one. It would have to be a 50/50 mix for my siblings. Been through thick and thin. I would always be there for them, as I am sure they would always be there for me.

The three things which I am most thankful for:

Life
Family
Opportunities

Three of my best life-skills are:

Using humor to make friends laugh
Finding and taking on challenging activities
Remaining calm yet resilient during a crisis

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:

I say what I mean, I mean what I say. I tell it like it is regardless of the situation.

The things I can't live without are:

Family
Chocolate
iPod
The Arts
Java

The first thing people notice about me:

I'm a very positive person with a very positive realist outlook on life. Always look at the glass half full.

Some additional information I want you to know:

Let's see. I am a pretty active guy in all aspects of my life. Always up for new things, even if its on a moments notice. I continuously push myself to the limit; physically and mentally. I up for all sorts of different activities. Some a bit adventurous (sky-diving, white water rafting, rock climbing) and average stuff like museums, yoga, movies, site seeing, traveling, racquetball, tennis, and dancing. I set aggressive goals in my life.

I typically spend my leisure time:

I enjoy cooking for myself or others. Took some courses at the Institute of Culinary Education. I also enjoy spending time outdoors playing tennis, swimming, or just spending time with friends and family. I also practice various forms of martial arts. When I want to relax from a stressful day, I'll either watch something on the DVD or finish up a book. Exercise is also important to me. I mix it up with cardio, weight training and resistance training. Leads off to a great start for the day.

The last book I read and enjoyed:

Scratch Beginnings by Adam Shepard.

My friends describe me as:

Physically Fit
Ambitious
Passionate
Outgoing

Hi newlysingle76! This is a good profile, especially the "passionate about" section. I think you could expand a little more in some places; notes below.

What do you mean by "varying mixed results"? A lot of matches aren't responsive, for reasons that have nothing to do with you, so it may be you're actually doing really well and just don't realize it! lol.

Good luck on EH!

The most important thing I am looking for in a person is:

The most influential person in my life has been:

Hard for just one. It would have to be a 50/50 mix for my siblings. Been through thick and thin. I would always be there for them, as I am sure they would always be there for me. Not quite an answer to the question -- how have they influenced you?

The three things which I am most thankful for:

Life
Family
Opportunities
Add a short phrase to each of these to make them more memorable and unique, to say more about you. Otherwise it's kind of a vague list.

Three of my best life-skills are:

Using humor to make friends laugh
Finding and taking on challenging activities
Remaining calm yet resilient during a crisis

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:

I say what I mean, I mean what I say. I tell it like it is regardless of the situation. That seems like something people actually would notice about you! Why don't they? But ... it's a good answer, anyway.

The things I can't live without are:

Family
Chocolate
iPod
The Arts
Java coffee or software?

The last book I read and enjoyed:

Scratch Beginnings by Adam Shepard. I haven't read this so this doesn't tell me anything. Add in (briefly) what it is and why you liked it. E.g. "... a novel about backpacking in Alaska -- really well written, a page-turner; I want to go up there up someday".

Hi Newlysingle, Good profile, just come out of your shell a bit and state more things about other than family, food and fitness.
Reflect your personality more, vague cliches are generally meaningless.
Remember you are trying to attract someone, mention some things that a woman could do with you besides food and your family
The one thing I am most passionate about:

I have a passion for cooking and experimenting with new recipes. I've been cooking since I was a kid with my mother, and expanded from there. A woman whom knows how to communicate her feelings. Whether good or bad, positive or negative, communication is key for any successful relationship. Redundant,

The most influential person in my life has been:

Hard for just one. It would have to be a 50/50 mix for my siblings. Been through thick and thin. I would always be there for them, as I am sure they would always be there for me.Why are they influential?

The three things which I am most thankful for:

Life Too vague, says nothing about you
Family
Opportunities Too vague

Three of my best life-skills are:

Using humor to make friends laugh
Finding and taking on challenging activities
Remaining calm yet resilient during a crisis

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me:

I say what I mean, I mean what I say. I tell it like it is regardless of the situation. They don't notice this? Good statement, but put it under a different heading

The things I can't live without are:

Family Redundant, anything else going on in your life besides food, family and fitness?
Chocolate
iPod
The Arts Vague, try to elaborate
Java

The first thing people notice about me:
This cliche means nothing, try to state something individual about yourself.
I'm a very positive person with a very positive realist outlook on life. Always look at the glass half full.

Try saying something about yourself beyond food and exercise, surely you have more interests than that

I've expanded on and corrected the red. To be honest, the ones I am interested in and send out questions to close me out. Not sure its the distance or what, but the results are few and far between. I also have two at stage 3 that are just sitting their waiting to move on to 4. And I've had six OC's which the other just apparently died off. So, I don't know. Very strange results here. 90% seem dead profiles too.
