I would have been amazed had I not been reading this board. Why in the heck would a married man come to EH to hook up? There are so many other dating sites that aren't about finding the love of your life.

Because he can.

You're assuming he's not on multiple sites.
I think that what she was trying to say is that why pay money for eHarmony when there are free sites that welcome married people looking for a hook up.

I was very surprised at first, and also thought that because it's a paying site and because it totally goes against the whole premise behind Eharmony's reputation, that you wouldn't find any married people here.

But, if you think about it, it's the best place for married people. First because no one would suspect them and second because you can't search for matches so they have less worry that someone will spot them (like a neighbor).

In the first case, I would agree with this logic.

In the second, I would not. Once a photo is posted on a dating site, the liklihood is out of being spotted.

Using eHarmony, I have recognized women from my workplaces, at the gym, and a few others from my community.

Yep, but I don't ever assume that someone can't afford to use all possible avenues to get what they want. If you have the bucks no price is too high.

The money that is spent on EH is play money to some people, nothing more. It's not an investment, for them.

I've never seen anyone I know on Eharmony. But, people can always post someone else's picture. I mean if you really want to be deceptive, you could do that.

This is also a very populated city. And when you factor in parts of Jersey, Long Island, and Westchester, you can easily say 20 million.

What are the odds?

Yes, that is fair.

Where I lived was a lot less populated than NewYorkistan.

And I was a younger age - where it might be the case that people are more likely to find their peers.

In any case, it sounds like I am not married, and therefore very Kissable?

I don't understand the biterness. If someone said they wern't available much I would go beyond that point. I expect my soulmate to be my best friend. If they don't want then that they aren't for me. Why not just let the match die at that point. You are only at stage 1. It's not like you have been dating for a while and this came up.

If you find the person who is too good to be true they probably are.

FYI....sites dont check if you are married or not...that involves too much work.

On dating sites people lie about anything and everything including where they live, how old they are , and their marital status.

I have seen people I knew prior.

I have seen similar profiles and pictures on eharmony that I saw on match and other dating sites.

Your only evidence that this guy was married is because you said so?
