As I start to get settled in the new place, the FCW is coming at a perfect time! This is encouraging me to get my profile makeover done early vs never. Feedback would be most greatly appreciated.

Other than your parents, who has been the most influential person in your life and why

My sister has been extremely influential in my life. Her glow since getting married several years ago has brightened since my niece was born. They continually fill my life with laughter, giggle fits, and force me to expand my thinking.

What is the most important quality that you are looking for in another person

Note: I don't really like this answer. Makes it sound like physical beauty is top priority for me. What is INSIDE is much more important. But I draw a blank on how to write this.

She creates a conundrum of which is greater - her physical beauty or her intelligence. Her drive and passion extends into everything she does. Our independence streaks complement one another.

Other than your appearance, what is the first thing that people notice about you

Family, friends, and peers tell me my emotions can be read on my face -- sometimes they see a Patricia Cornwell suspense novel, others see The Misunderstood World of a Bike Racer. Don't judge the book by its cover -- unless it is covered in smiles.

What is the ONE thing that people DON'T notice about you right away that you WISH they WOULD

With everything going on, my mind is always spinning. I suppose that can be a tough difficult to see. When I get lost in thought, some people assume negative things because my face is blank. This tends to increase the complexity of the novel on my face.

What are five things that you "can't live without?

Adrenaline
Laughter
The beauty of this world
Animals
The feel of the earth under my hands

Describe the last book that you read and enjoyed. What was it about? What did you like most about it?

Always have multiple books going. Complicated, intriguing, exciting Tom Clancy-type novels pull me into another world. Yet research publications, biochemistry, and foodie readings all call for me to read. The complexities of how of how life functions, how our bodies work, fascinates me. "How Lance Does It" really impacted me with both the author and Lance's comments on how he approaches life and handles the stresses it brings.

Is there any additional information you would like your matches to know about you

Getting inside and drawing me out may take a little effort. I tend to be quiet around people I don't know. But once you are in, you are IN! Some friends can read me like a book; others are continually surprised. Which one will you be?

What are you most passionate about

Enjoying this gift called life is my greatest passion. I'm honored to not only enjoy it directly, but also through the eyes of my students. Their viewpoints are unique and greatly enhance my experiences. Helping my students grow so they can more thoroughly appreciate and experience all life has to offer is another passion.

What are the THREE things for which you are MOST thankful?

1. Living in the best country in the world with unlimited opportunities
2. The beauty of this world. It is everywhere - you just have to open your soul to find it
3. My family and friends.

Four things my friends say about me: (BTW, does anyone actually ASK their friends about this?)

Good listener
Physically Fit
Intelligent
Romantic

Three of my best life skills
Note: The first one mixed with the above answer seems to be too much. I've been told by many that I'm very romantic. With close friends and family, I have gotten to be very good at sharing my innermost thoughts and feelings. You tell me ... which to use (if either)?

Creating romance in a relationship
remaining calm in a crisis
Continuing to expand my knowledge and awareness

How do you typically spend your leisure time?

Leisure time usually has me on the move. I love to get lost in spin of my pedals. Racing and riding has taken me to many areas and keeps providing new experiences. Working on the farm, while also time consuming, reaps rewards as well. My students also get time, with their clubs and activities. Their energies just keep mine flowing.

Intermixed is true downtime to rest and relax. This precious time is filled with cooking (got a favorite recipe?), reading, watching movies, my photography, and listening to music. I love local restaurants and shops.

Looking at the profile, I don't see where the "Something to talk about" shows up on the profile. What the heck? I can put this info up if it will help.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I really like your profile...your personality is evident and it doesn't read like everyone elses. I agree that you should tone down the physical beauty part - I guess since you will see a pic before choosing to communicate I am not sure you need to include that at all - since physical beauty is subjective. Perhaps intelligent and attractive to me???

A couple of other phrases you may want to reconsider "my mind is always spinning" makes me wonder about ADD...I don't think that is what you mean. I don't really get the don't judge a book by its cover unless I am smiling part since you say your emotions are easy to read? I think being easy to read is a good thing so I wouldn't include that last sentence. But later you say only some people can ready you - a little confusing. I would probably word the section on being quiet more positively - I warm up to people fairly quickly after the awkward first bit instead of it can take time to draw me out - sounds like a lot of work to get to know you...I am doubting that is the case.

I also wonder if remainng calm in a crisis is the best choice for life skill - even if true...doesn't apply as much to everyday life and may not therefore be as appealing. Are there any others that are equally true but perhaps more relevant?

These are all pretty minor points...good job on it and good luck

I agree with most of what coffeetogoplease just said. I would suggest that the first section you have a "Note" on, go ahead and drop that first sentence. Use the next two sentences to start a narrative of what you want. I'd leave "beauty" or "appearance" completely out of it. I mean, we're guys, we can tell pretty much at a glance whether or not someone is attractive to us. No need to risk making her uncomfortable by putting it in writing. You're trying to get at qualities you can't see from her photos, and you'll want to focus on that in the section.

Hmm, while I do get a good sense of who you are through this profile, there is something a little off about it.

Other than your parents, who has been the most influential person in your life and why

My sister has been extremely influential in my life. Her glow since getting married several years ago has brightened since my niece was born. They continually fill my life with laughter, giggle fits, and force me to expand my thinking. They continue to fill my life with laughter and giggle fits. [It is not grammatically correct to add the "and force me to expand my thinking" ... if you want to include this, I would rather you say a sentence about why they expand your thinking and/or what you mean by expanding your thinking. If you want to leave it, you need to say:] They continually fill my life with laughter, fill my life with giggle fits, and force me to expand my thinking.

Describe the last book that you read and enjoyed. What was it about? What did you like most about it?

[You seem to enjoy painting a flowery picture. That's cool especially if that is your m.o. However, if you're going to do that, I would make sure that it is grammatically correct. I find trying to paint a picture with your writing with sentence fragments to be jarring and unpoetic]

I love to read, so I always have multiple books going. I enjoy being pulled into another world of complicated, intriguing, exciting Tom Clancy-type novels
. I am easily drawn in by research publications, biochemistry, and foodie readings as well. The complexities of how life functions and how our bodies work fascinates me. Lance Armstrong's book "How Lance does it" impacted me greatly through being able to see both his approach to life and how he handles stress.

Suzy,

Thanks for the comments. Your changes are going into the profile.

Coffee, good points. This still needs some work, but how about something along these lines?

Her love of life, passions, and intelligence combine to provide a kaleidoscope view of her and the world. Her independence and strength is only outdone by her sensitivity and gentleness.
