I get some matches (less than 1 in 10) that look, but don't answer or close. I send the 1st questions. Again, looking and no action. In a week: nudge..with the same result. In two more weeks: an ice breaker to remind. A similar immediate viewing and no response.

I believe they are members, just not interested in communicating or closing. So I should do them a favor and close. But it's easier said than done for more compatible matches. What do you do with "lookers": keep or close after repeated unsuccessful reminders? More importantly, how do you understand their actions?

I think you are putting too much thought into this. Like in real life, not every person who looks at you, even repeatedly, will approach you or respond to you. I fire off the first questions to matches who I find interesting, and then I don't worry about it anymore. A few will respond, then we'll communicate. Now and then I look at the folder and close matches who have not responded after a month.

Unless you have lots of good options, I think you should wait until the next free weekend, then use the nudge.

This is why I won't even look at a profile except during a free weekend.
