When I adjust my setting, I realize that it isn't clear what the "height importance" is: she should be same height as me, 2-4 in. shorter, or what? If I say "not important", I get everybody as far as height. What if I say "important": what matches would I loose? Just curious.

Clueless.
I put most of mine in the middle. I think that was somewhat important.

It was said, by someone at eH, that the height importance is different for men and women. So, if I put Very Important, I will receive mainly matches taller than myself. If a man does it, mainly matches shorter than himself. I just set it at least important. I only get a few matches that are shorter than myself not. Before, when I had it set at Very Important, it didn't seem to do anything but get me fewer matches.

I do not know how EH handles height preference. I set it as "not at all". I am fairly tall and I still never got anyone shorter than 1-2" shorter than me. ??

Seems more productive to set it at "no preference" and just close matches whose height is intolerable!
