I have been in communication with this guy for the past week. We exchanged several messages and even scheduled to meet for coffee next Thurs. I saw that he sent me another communication today, when I checked my email. Since I couldn't view it at work because of the blocks on the work computers, I waited till I could check it from home. When I logged in to see the message I was told that his profile was "no longer available". I never got to see what this last message even said. I'm a little puzzled because the communication process seemed to be going so well. Now I am still planning on going to the coffee shop next Thurs. My son goes to a youth group and I'm going for coffee while he's there anyways. I don't know what this guys deal is. Thoughts?

He was probably writing to tell you that his subscription was expiring. I hope he shows up!

I hope thats the case. It stinks because I was going to give him my personal email and maybe even my cell number. My computers been having issues, so, we could keep in touch.
If he doesn't show, well hey the place has great coffee and is next door to my favorite bookstore.

Having your profile completely disappear is different than having your paid membership run out. He may be married/separated and was caught by eH. Or his account was being used for sc**ming. There are other reasons for accounts being removed, but I don't know all of them. Another thought is he didn't realize that by deleting his account (on his own) that you wouldn't be able to see his last communication.

You might want to be prepared if you do show up for coffee. He could be a real cad.

You can contact Customer Care and ask if they have access to that communication.

Ugh. I thought it was weird that his profile was no longer available. As for the coffee. Its a place I like to go from time to time on my own anyways, so showing up there won't be a total waste.
I'll see if customer care will get me anywhere. Thanks!

Before jumping to the worst of conclusions, members do actually have the option to fully close their profile and not leave it hanging around with matching supposedly turned off. So it is possible that he did full close the profile and did not realize that you would not able to read his e-mail in time.

Did you find out anything from customer service?

Same thing happened with the guy I am seeing. But he and I had already exchanged personal emails and when we finally met he told me he had closed his account because his subscription ended.

Hmmm. Now I'm paranoid he got the boot.

It is totally possible the men you are posting about canceled their accounts after the paid part ends. But, that would be unusual practice. You can hide a profile, turn off matching, ignore it, etc. Most people keep their profile hidden, etc just in case. I do. I dated several men and left my eH account sitting for years. Why go through the whole questionnaire again and the whole set up over and over.

My account was mysteriously closed by eH last fall. I had been inactive for a while, but I was checking my new matches from time to time and there was nothing offensive in my profile. I complained, and they did reopen my account (although all my previously open matches were closed).

For what it's worth.
