Is this new? I never noticed it before. I assume that EH sorted through their data base, collected them and then sent them to you periodically. Does pressing that button hurry up the system? Or is it like that button on LOST that Desmond was pressing?

It's exactly like Desmond's button - only whenever I push it the eHarmony source of electromagnetism implodes and gives me a "sorry, no more matches!" screen.

Hi 2clueless,
I don't think that this button is anything new. I really like it! I use it a majority of the time and I get A LOT of matches on a daily basis! Even if I don't press it, eH still sends them to me anyway. As long as your Preferences are set "just right," you will get ALOT of matches. Good luck! Laura8

Ok, thanks. I pressed it a few times and nothing happened.

I just restarted my membership a few weeks ago and I get matches in dribbles. I usually just log in and check every other day or so but now I will press as well. Yay for interactivity.

You can use the button once per day usually. You might even try pressing it more than once per day. Once day I got my matches by pressing it, then received a set of matches (about 7) then, before the day was up I pressed it again, just for kicks. I ended up with 21 matches that day. I usually get 7 or 8.

Hi 2Clueless and everyone,

The Find New Matches button is very historical (it was even there when I used the service back in “aught-something”, before working here).

It usually works best if you do some setting adjustments first. Sometimes you can just change settings, but it usually works best if you open your settings. I’m not sure how many times a day you can click it to get results, though.

As Kate said it has always been there. Sometimes when you click it you will get new matches sometimes you don't. I don't often use it but every now and then I will click it. If you are fiddling with a setting you can click on the button to see if your change seems like a good one. Though even here I would suggest that you leave any setting changes for a few days to see what you get each night.

The database search runs during the middle of the night, Pacific time and you will get a batch of new matches sometime very early in the morning.
