Hello and welcome to eHarmony Advice!

Here are some guidelines for receiving and giving feedback on your eHarmony Singles dating profile!

Posting For Feedback:

If you're looking for feedback on your eHarmony Singles profile, you can post the content of your own profile* here and ask for input and insight from our helpful Community Members. Here's how to do it:

1. Copy your profile questions and answers into a text file. Do not use Microsoft Word for this as it will result in display issues in your post which will make it harder for readers to read through.

2. Then copy and paste all of the content in your profile ("What is your passion", "What are you looking for in another person", etc.) into a new thread in "Using eHarmony". Be sure to note your gender and age in the subject line of your thread, as that information is helpful to those who will read it and give you feedback.

3. Although both men and women may comment on your thread, it's a good idea to make sure your gender is clearly stated so readers know for sure what they're reading.

If you have questions, please PM me, the eHarmony Advice Hosts Kate or Renee, or any of our Volunteer Community Leaders.

I hope our Community gives you the insight you need to make your best possible profile!

Best,
-Lori

*While you are welcome to post copy/pastes from your own profile here, please be advised that copy/pasting, screencapping or otherwise replicating the profile of one of your matches is a violation of eHarmony's Terms of Service.

Providing Feedback to Others

Remember, many people who come and ask for help are very new to and uncertain about online dating, so:

-Be helpful and constructive, but gentle. Making wholesale statements which put a person down (no matter how inadvertent it may be) is hurtful, not helpful.

-Be as descriptive as possible. Don't just say, "I don't like that" -- tell them why (again, gently).

-Temper criticism with praise. Be sure to point out what you DID like about their profile in addition to what you think needs more work.
