Does eharmony offer a free trial for say 24 hours or something. I am new to eharmony and have no idea how it works or what types of people are on here. I would like to be able to have a look before I tied myself into a 6 month contract.

The free communication weekends are about all they have now, but you don't get all the"benefits" as a paying member.
Can't remember what they are offhand, but someone else will probably know.

Thank you ! Is this every weekend and advertised on their site? They should really think about it or at least a 'tour' function. How can you know what the benefits are of being a paying member if you can't even see anything!

You won't get to see photos if that's a dealbreaker, I can tell you that.
Like I said, someone else can fill you in on the rest of the package.

Grimmy there is no "free trial" but you can create a profile for free and then receive matches to see what type of matches you get.

Also as TheThinker mentioned there are Free Communication Weekends. These happen usually on a holiday weekend. There is another thread on this board that there is going to be a 10 day long FCW beginning this weekend so this is just perfect timing for you. On a FCW non-paying members can communicate using the Guided Communication process only. Paying members can skip the Guided Communication process and go directly to Open Communication AKA e-mail. Personally I don't recommend skipping the Guided Communication process and most other prefer it as well.

The only other thing that non-paying members cannot do on a FCW is see photos. If this is a real deal breaker for you then you will just have to pay your money. However, if you are communicating with a match during a FCW you can request them to send a photo to you at your regular e-mail address once you have reached Open Communication. I have communicated with many non-paying members on FCWs and this is standard procedure.

You need to get started getting taking the Personality Profile Questionnaire (this is how matching is done so take your time and consider how each question relates to you), your profile written and post a photo or two for the paying members to see.

Good luck on the FCW and / or if you decide that eHarmony is a site for you.

I don't think it is a free weekend - at least, it doesn't seem to be working for me.

Just for members of eharmony.ca

http://advice.eharmony.com/boards/da...ion-event.html (Free Communication Event!)

Hi Everyone.

We are having a Free Guided-Communication Event for our eHarmony.CA members. So if you are an eHarmony.com member, you wouldn't have seen any announcements.

Starting today, May 21, through Sunday, May 30, Canadian members have 10 days to exchange Get to know each other questions, share Must Haves and Can't Stands, and ask their own questions in the Learn more about each other stage. If a member would like to continue communicating with matches past the Guided-Communication stage and enter into eHarmony Mail, it will be necessary to purchase a subscription.

Our hope is that by giving members 10 days, they'll have the time to enjoy the communication process as they build a rapport with matches of interest, and that this experience will inspire them to want to continue getting to know their matches through eHarmony Mail.

If members partcipating in this Event have any further questions or need assistance, Customer Care agents are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Just click on the Help link at the bottom of your profile page.

No word yet on the next U.S. Event, but we'll keep you posted.

Hi Grimy!

I created a profile and received matches, and spent some time poking around here on the boards -- especially this forum, Using EHarmony -- before I signed up for a membership.

By the time I paid, I had a pretty clear view of what was going to happen. The actual experience of course can only be had by signing up, but from reading this forum, I wasn't really surprised by anything.
