Hi Everyone,
Could someone explain to me the matching process with respect to matches which are Highly Compatible vs. Flexible Matches? I have sent an e-mail to the Help section, but, I have no idea what the guy said!
I think I understand that we are supposed to be receiving matches which are HC. And we could receive matches which are FM. It has been a LONG time that I have received a HC match, but, I always receive FM. Shouldn't I be receiving some?? I'm confused?! Thanks! Laura8

Hi Laura8,

Sorry you weren't able to understand our message to you!

All matches are “HC” – highly compatible. The flexibility of a “Flexible Match” is just flexible in the settings on your My Settings tab.

You have control over the Flexible Matching. You have a sliding bar underneath every match setting (distance, religion, age, etc). If you set that sliding bar below a 6, you’re opening the settings to provide for Flexible Matches. If you set the sliding bar to a 6 or 7 in a given setting, you’re preventing Flexible Matches in that setting.

For example, if you have set your distance to 120 miles, and then have a 5 on the sliding bar (“Somewhat Important”), you will get any compatible matches within the 120 mile radius, but also you may get some outside that radius. If you set the sliding bar to 6 or 7 (“Very Important”), you will stop getting matches outside your 120 miles.

It’s a misnomer that “Flexible Matches” are somehow not as good. They are just compatible, and anyone of them could be the right one for you.

Good luck and happy matching!

Hi Kate,
Thanks for replying to my post! Now, I understand! (I feel so silly tho'!) I thought that matches were either HC OR FM. I never knew that they all were Highly Compatible. Yes, I have heard that some think that matches which are considered to be Flexible are "less than what they are looking for.." I have placed my Settings to below 6, so my Flexible Matches have inceased. I feel so much better! Thanks again! Laura8
