simple question: can non-paying matches post only one photo?

Can non-payers post only one photo? Also, their profile views show up when they've viewed you, as long as they haven't chosen to be anonymous?

Kate, the second part of the question is will they show up as having viewed you (if their settings are not set to "anonymous"). I think the OP is trying to find ways to decipher if a member is paying or non-paying. Say, if she sees that "Jeff" has viewed her today. If "Jeff" shows up, does that mean that he is a paying member?

And I have a question along those lines. What does a non-paying member see if I send them 5 questions? Do they still get an email saying it was ME that asked for communication. OR is it just am ambiguous email that says "someone" requests communication. OR is there no notification at all?

And should they then log in to view "me," will non-paying members be able to see my photos or just my profile?

A non-paying member will show up as having viewed your profile if that's what they did same as a paying member. There is no practical way to identify a non-paying member.

A non-paying member cannot see your photo, they can only read your profile. As for notification - they can see that YOU sent them questions and read those questions if they are logged in same way that you can as a member. The only thing is that they can't respond without paying for the service.

I did miss part “B” of Margaret18’s question. So DancingFool, thanks for covering both questions. A non-paying member knows who sent them a communication and that way, they can check out the profile (yes, minus the photo).

I imagine it's because people don't want to use the service anymore for whatever reason and don't know you can turn off matching.

Because many matches are non-paying and do not ever return to the site after filling out a profile.

Also, part of the eHarmony business model is paying customers will bring in non-paying customers by baiting them with communication.

This is correct. Most of your matches are going to be non-paying members.

Isn't it more likely that if a match has posted several photos that they are paying?

I always assumed that a non-paying match wouldn't bother posting more than one photo.
