why am I getting matches across the country?

I have my distance set for 120 miles or closer, yet I'm suddenly getting matches who live 500 to 2,000 miles away! how does that happen? I have no interest in talking to men who live on the west coast, while I'm on the east coast. been there, done that and do not want an LDR again.

funny enough, they're not even listed as flexible matches! just regular matches. what's up, eHarmony?

Hi Cricket99,

I’m glad you said something. First of all, if you are getting matches outside of your original distance settings (the range that shows up in the map on your My Settings page on the Distance tab), it is probably because the sliding bar below the map is set to lower than a 6 or “Somewhat Important”).

You can make this setting “Very Important” by sliding the bar to a 6 or 7, and clicking the Save Changes button beneath it.

I’m not sure why these matches aren’t being labeled as Flexible Matches on their profiles. That is something we’d like to investigate for you if you’d like. I have sent this concern already to our tech team, but you can also contact our Customer Care team with specific matches. You can reach them through our FAQs page: eHarmony Support Home Page.
