Someone said that their are matches out there that are paid by EH. Does anyone know if this is true?

What are they (supposedly) paid to do?

(eH employees are actually prohibited from using the service, for what that's worth...)

I think the one post said that they were paid to talk to matches to keep them interested in the service. Most of the time it may be someone from another state. Just asking, I just saw this stated on another post.

Pfftt... there would be no incentive for eH to do that, and very high potential costs in lost reputation (which could ultimately cost them millions of dollars).

That's one of those things that gets started as a rumor on pretty much any paid site, I think. But if you think about it, it wouldn't even be cost effective.

I have never heard that rumor. I don't find it believable ... it would be such a stupid thing to do! If it were true and got exposed it would pretty much destroy eh.

I highly doubt eH would pay people to communicate with others. Just look at what happened with Match.com and their huge mistake in that department. Someone saying something on one of these threads does not make it true, nor does it make it untrue. But, this particular kind of rumor starting is usually just someone frustrated with their entire e-dating experience and want to place blame somewhere.

Yeah, it just doesn't make sense for EH to do that kind of thing.

There are other, much more expensive dating sites/companies, (I think "It's Just Lunch" is one of them), that promise a certain amount of actual dates and meet ups, and if you don't get them, they owe you back your money.

Since those dating sites/companies have memberships that run into the 1000's of dollars a year, it makes sense for them to set up "fake dates", for members that just aren't doing well, and are at risk for being able to get back those 1000's in membership fees/dues.

It just doesn't make sense for a company like EH to do this, where a monthly membership runs about 20-30 bucks.

It probably would cost EH more to pay someone to spend the time writing to a bunch of members that aren't getting communication, then it would be to just take the hit and lose the subscription of said member.

I can't read the article without signing up with Goliath Bus. News (which I am not going to do) but thanks for the effort.
