I'm assuming you mean searching the advice boards (eHA) Since you cannot search on the singles site (eH)

Not everyone has their profiles filled out completely (or honestly) So searching on here would be difficult.

If you're looking to make some new friends, start posting and join a few groups.

i think i know what you are talking about. there is a link that i think is on the home page thats says "search for new matches." i have tried it too and it has yielded a match. once. i think you basically just have to wait until they send you matches. i changed my matching preferences to include the four states that surround the one i live in and am getting many more matches. you can change any of your preferences anytime and you might get more matches.

eHarmony is not like certain other sites where you create a search criteria and then manually search for matches that fit your criteria.

The eHarmony system takes your answers to the Personality Profile Questionnaire and creates your 29 Dimensions of Compatibility. It will then search for people who are compatible to you on those 29 Dimensions. It will then filter those matches based on your settings, the religious preferences is in your settings. eHarmony runs the search during the middle on the night and sends you your new matches usually very early in the morning.

The button to check for new matches that dogwood mentioned just forces the search to happen at that time rather than waiting for the regular search in the middle of the night. Sometime it will find some new matches for you and sometime it won't.
