Hey Guys,

Thanks for the advice. I'm always concerned about email viruses. Anyway, here is the scoop. The guy ,is a dishonest person. He posted a photo that has to be close to 20 years old. He listed his age as 54, but after a little internet research, it turns out that he is about 64 years old. Also, he is on some very scary websites. One of them was called Adult Breastfeeding. Yuck!!! I'll just let your imagination give you a clue as to the other sites (let's just say that he is not getting that "service" for free.) Before, I found out this out however, I gave him my phone number (I always like to do a voice check), he called and left a message, he was in Virginia not Oxnard like his profile indicated and he sounded just like Truman Capote. Not good. I recommend, researching people to the best of your ability before proceeding with a first meeting. It can't hurt and it may just save you from disappointment.

Scout, just a heads up. You need to edit your posts to delete this guys screen name. You can report this information, if you want, to the administrators of the site, but you can't post it here. It's a violation of the TOS.

I'm glad you found out some information about this person. I will warn you that not all information on the internet is accurate. I come up with my sister's age (5 years older) and my mother's age (24 years older) on some of those sites.

My suggestion, unless you have closed all communication with this man, is to ask for more recent photos and maybe other information that could get you more accurate information from those online sources.

OP, be very careful that in your overzealous research you don't end up smearing an honest person. First of all most of the information out on the internet is not accurate and you may even be looking at someone else entirely. This is about as common as rain.

Secondly, phone numbers nowadays can be registered in all kinds of different locations and used elsewhere due to easily available number transfers and I'm not referring to cell phones here either. With cell phones it's an even bigger free for all. You can keep your number forever no matter where you move in the country. To jump to a conclusion that a person is lying about where they live based on a phone number is jumping to some pretty wild conclusions.

Finally, if you honestly think his photos are 20 years old, why not ask him about it and ask for a current photo. Again, men posting older photos is as common as rain. Typically, it's an indication of personal insecurity much more than some kind of malicious intent.

I don't search for guys but stating an incorrect age and / or posting old photos is something the women do with regularity.

What does this have to do with eharmony, which doesn't have screen names?

His name sounds like he just added a zip code to his (rather common) first name, so I wouldn't be surprised if there are multiple people using that same nickname on various sites who don't know each other.

Like others said, info you find online isn't always accurate, so it's possible the guy told the truth.

If he's into things you aren't, I would just avoid him rather than judging his interests and smearing him on a public forum. Would you want someone to do that to you?

Because if it's said on the Internet it MUST be true.

Scout, I see you acknowledge my statement of deleting this person's screen name from your post. Yet, you haven't done it. Do you think I was joking when I gave this advice? How would you feel if this man posted a complaint about a woman "Scout" who did a background check on him, found incorrect information and posted it all over the internet?
