An observation: many more matches without photos lately

Anybody else have noticed it? The rate has more than doubled for me in the last week.

I saw a huge number of these a few weeks ago. Now I'm seeing a whole bunch of Flexible Matches but they have photos.

So if my experience means anything, maybe you can expect a bunch of Flexibles with photos next.

Funny, I could have posted this exact same thread about six weeks ago, but I guess things have ebbed and flowed in another direction and now most of the matches I get have a photo and a completed profile. I could see the ebb and flow going in another direction at any time though.

Meh. They're all useless to me.

My flexes are distance related.

What is a "flexible" match? Sorry, don't know the lingo yet. And for people that don't post their photo, I close right away.

Yesterday the only five matches I got were all incompletely filled out - for example, leaving out among other things, what they are looking for in a person - and none had photos. Why would anyone be interested in contacting them?

Today was a little better.

flexible matches.(noted on profiles) This occurs when eH doesn't have any exact matches for you. Flexible matches are compatible in regards to the 29 dimensions, but are just outside your Match settings criteria. Match settings criteria. (age, geography, etc)

You do realize that some people have photos in the eH holding pattern of being approved. Just so you don't lose out on meeting that special person, I suggest you keep them in your archive tab for a while. Some people are just slow at the photo side of things. Could you imaging buying a new computer and not having any photos on your computer at all?



cal_dude, I think your matches will go through stages. I sometimes get matches all from the same geographic area (within 20 miles of each other) or most have the same kind of job, or sometimes multiple matches with the same first name. It's just the way the system works.

Ahhh, I see. Thanks. Haven't gotten any of those matches yet. So they are differently marked, huh? I'll be on the lookout.

As for no pics, eHarmony service typically take up to 5-6 hours at most to put pics up. After that, she has some issues as to why she won't post any. Those are HER issues, not mine. She is not putting herself out there for whatever reason and I really don't care what it is (job, embarrassment, has no self-esteem, whatever....) She can make all the "logical" excuses she wants, but I am closing her out. Even if she does add pictures later, I can always check under the "closed" file to see her pics. If I want to re-open, I can. Archiving is no different, it's just that closing sends a message, that yes, sorry...but um, physical attraction matters as does being comfortable with putting yourself "out there" and actually taking this site seriously.

I have never been at a bar where everyone wore paper bags on their head trying to meet people and then once you clicked, removed the bags and said, "Who cares what you look like, I'm in love." If only our world could be so easy. Both men and women are shallow these days, even though women pretend better than men not to be shallow.
