So I guess EH wants to keep us on the site longer and keep us pondering if we really want to close someone or not?

I spent 2 hours this morning taking all the archived guys and turning them into closed.

Also, one guy that I got to OC with, I asked to test the system with me, he archived me and it showed closed on my end. So there's your answer! If it's the same as closing, then what's the point? Leave it as closed!

Sorry going to have to play devil's advocate here.. If you had that many matches still open.. How is that eH fault?

As far as your test match, When he archived you. You wouldn't know this.. Since it read closed.. He actually closed you out. He remains in your archive folder until you close him out.. He would havbe the option to: Re-open Match
So there is a difference between the two.

I agree the extra step to close a new match in a PITA.. But imo there is an effective way to use the archive folder..

Simple solution - just leave them archived. Quick and painless.

In two days, I was given 25 matches. Plus I had 12 from Friday. Out of those, 2 I sent first questions too. So the rest had to be, one by one, closed and then back to the main page, closed, etc... There should be an option of either close or archive. That's what I'm looking for.

You didn't see what I was saying.. he did archive me and we were on the phone talking while he did it... my screen then said match was closed. He didn't move me to closed till after that.

Agree with that 100%

Now I see why it took you so long, you did it one-by-one.. Why not archive all of them first, then go to close them after. If your sort by is set to match delivery date (recent) closing goes fairly quick.

No I got that.. If you wanted to give him the option to re-open then you can leave it your archive folder. When you also close you block that option.

I did do it as archive for all of them first as I went through the profiles... then you go to your archive page... then click the profile again, then close, then you're back on the matches page... go back to archive, go to profile, close, back to matches page... etc... So where's the "fairly quick" part? lol

Huh! I'll have to look at it again in the morning, I could swear it stays in the archive folder.

I just did mine again, and it goes back to my "My Matches" page

I can think of nothing positive that having the "Archive" function has provided.

It has added a lot more clicks to close a New match that you are not interested in though.
