I have been a member since last summer and have had over 400 matches but just a few responses (10) and none have led to a date. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong ( I have pictures posted). I have initiated the process on quite a few, but don't receive a lot of responses or they just say they want to pursue other matches. As you can tell I'm very unhappy with e-harmony. E-harmony has even given me 2 free months. My profile is complete. Any suggestions?

Hi Colhi,

We all get frustrated with e-dating from time to time. I can understand where you're coming from.

There are many things that can make the e-dating journey a tough one. Let's start with your profile.

What type of photos do you have posted? Here is a good article related to photos Online Dating 101: Photos

There are also the Profile workshops for each of the questions. (eHarmony Profile Workshop Threads (Links listed here))(eHarmony Profile Workshop Threads (Links listed here))

Many people have asked the community to provide feedback on their profile. There might be some cliché’s or profile pet peeves that your unaware of, that could possibly be turning-off your matches. If you would like the community to review your profile create a new thread in this forum.

Good luck and welcome to the boards.

I've had better luck than you, but not much. I've been on several dates with several women via eH over the course of about 3 years, but none have led to a relationship.

Sometimes I think the purpose of online dating services is to take people's already-flagging self esteem and destroy it utterly.

I know somebody that is married to somebody he MET on eHarmony...and he calls it eHarm-on-me. That's a real head-scratcher.

What is funny though..if I'm in any stage of guided communication with anybody...I feel like I have an iron in the fire. I'm upbeat. Nevermind that 95% fizzle before any meeting. When my bin is empty and no irons are in the fire, I feel dour.

I know I haven't been on here that long but the matches I get don't respond or they are pursing other relationship. Now im not getting any matches, Ive had 527 matches and maybe i've talked to two of them....It is just frustrating to try something new and different and not have anything happen....

How many is "quite a few"?

You might want to reconsider what you're looking for and play with your match settings to see what kind of people will be attracted to you.
