Hi Everyone,

Kate and I just wanted to follow up with everyone about a new addition to the Complete My Profile tab for eHarmony Singles users in Canada and the United States!

Something to Talk About is a new feature which will allow members to share likes or dislikes they have in common with each other in the worlds of culture, food, sports, hobbies, and entertainment. Members who have completed answering this information in our system will have a Something to Talk About field displayed on the right side of their Profile Pages.

You’ll now see the “Something to Talk About" page under the sub-tabs “Basics” and “In My Own Words.” This page gives you the chance to to tell us more about your lifestyles, hobbies and interests so we can help you better connect with matches.

You’ll see questions in the following categories:

1. Sports
2. Politics
3. Music
4. Pets
5. Books
6. Travel
7. Television
8. Dining Out
9. Movies
10. Life Style
11. Leisure

With these commonalities, it will be even easier to start that communication with your matches. If you see something in a match’s Something to Talk About field that you find interesting, simply hover over the information that intrigues you, and you will be prompted to “Talk to [match name] about this.” Click on the prompt, and you can send an eHarmony Mail message to your match about this interest!

You now have the chance to write some of these descriptions in your own words! Start thinking of clever wording and have fun with this new feature!

You know, I just don't understand the direction EHarmony is going anymore.

It seems that EH is trying to do away with GC completely?

Everything that seems to have been added/removed recently is trying to get rid of GC and push us directly to OC/email right away.

You got rid of showing us whether our Match prefers GC or FastTrack/email, and now this feature to encourage us to email right away...

Why???

Are you really getting that much feedback from your users about not liking GC?

I'll add that I really like the GC process and that's one of the reasons why I initially chose eHarmony over other dating sites. I'm not so sure that I like the direction the site is headed. Seems like there have been a lot of strange, major decisions lately.

I am not sure this is a correct statement. Every match I have had since the site re-design has taken me to send First Questions in the Guided Communication process. I have never been sent to a page suggesting that I send an eHarmony Mail (Fast Track) message as the first step.

And the Something to Talk About feature was introduced nearly a year ago. Well before the site re-design. Reading the above description of how it will work now seems to just be making it a cleaner, easier to use tool for prompting topics of conversation. I see nothing that would indicate that it is an attempt to remove Guided Communication or to get you to go directly to eHarmony Mail.

Yeah, as the others have said when is this going to be implemented? It is not on my page either.

Also will what you put in this section be used in the matching process?

Are you going to fix the part of our profile that can't be edited at the same time you implement this 'upgrade'?

Hi Everyone,

If you don't see this feature on your profile yet, it is because this new feature is being rolled out in phases. This is to ensure the Something About Me feature is fully functioning as intended before it is released to all eHarmony Singles users in the U.S. and Canada.

So if you don't see it on your profile yet, keep checking!

For those of you who have seen it on your profile, any comments?

All the best,

-Renee
