This topic may have been addressed on the boards before, but I was just wondering if anyone else has been matched with someone they are already dating or with a friend, or perhaps a co-worker or client.

Would love it if you'd share

I was matched with someone I knew - but one of the very few people I see in a highly negative light, as he had a woman living with him with 2 of their children, another one who helped finance his house pregnant with his 7th or 8th child, and additionally was trying to get one of my friends to date him as well. VERY well known in this town for his amoral ways.....needless to say, I closed THAT match in a hurry. One has to wonder though...how on earth was I matched with such a person? Eek!!!! I sure hope others have a better experience than me!

The only person I've ever been matched with who I already knew was my EX , but I was a non-paying member at the time, and just closed him out right away.

I didn't try E-Harmony as a subscriber for a long time after that, because we are definitely NOT a match - there are reasons we're no longer together! - but nothing like that has happened since.

I think it would be a cool thing to happen if it was someone I found attractive and had always wished for a chance to get to know, as long as he felt the same.

So this happened to you? Are you going to give us details?

LOL and Oh my Northern_Gal and Work_In_Progress.

Yeahhh, was matched w/a guy who is a close friend, but most definitely more than friends. We just found out yesterday when I finally decided to become a paying subscriber (again). The day before, I saw his profile (couldn't yet see pic) and knew it just had to be him. Figured I'd give eH one more try and once I paid and clicked on the profile I figured had to be him, there was his beautiful face I was blushing and laughing and teased him about it....I don't know if it means anything though...

I was matched to a girl on eHarmony that I had been matched to on Match. We did communicate and date for a short while via eHarmony.

I was matched to a girl that I have known for quite some time from these Advice boards.

Given that eHarmony's matching system matches you with respect to values it would at least indicate that you have commonality on the 29 Dimensions of Compatibility. Since you are already (more than) friends this may bode well for you.

Right. But what I meant was I don't know if the fact that we were matched will really change things between us. We already knew we were compatible, but just haven't taken a step further. We don't talk much about people we are currently dating. So now it's in our faces and I think it bugs me.

Now that you were matched and it's in your faces, maybe it's a sign that you need to take it to the next level. What does he think about this?

In the last 6 weeks (the amount of time I have been online dating), I have been matched with my ex 3 times on 3 different sites. It actually gave me some confidence in the "matching system" -- we WERE a good match for over 5 years :-). And we met on a dating site to begin with.
