I've had matches with people I know, or knew at one time. One was a co-worker who had been through 4 divorces...she closed me before I knew she was a match, not that I would really take a risk with someone who had that kind of record.

I was matched to a woman I went to jr. and sr. high school with, but back in the day, I really didn't talk to her...we had a few classes together, and nothing worked out with the match either. The kicker with her was that she was best friends with another of my co-workers. She was in one of the matches profile pics. That has happened another time too, where someone I knew was in a match's picture with her.

It is a small world. And I don't live in a small town, although I do know a lot of people so I guess the chances of being matched w/someone I know might be greater. Although, he is more than someone I know lol.

Oh I'm glad I found this. Haha I'm super shy when it comes to guys, and one night a couple months ago i just signed up to see who I might match with.

I was extremely surprised when a guy I know from work was my first match. I work in the service industry, and I see him every month or so. We've always talked and I kind if thought he liked me.... We know all about each others families. We're friends on Facebook... It's funny because as soon as I saw the first name (I hadn't paid) I knew it was him. And then everything I read in the profile confirmed it.

I never acted though.... Like I said I'm shy. I don't know if he knew it was me. I didn't put a photo up because I was like a deer in headlights. I don't really know how I feel about the situation. It's not a huge crush or anything, just someone who interested me. I was just thinking about it again for some reason.

Lol..... Really too funny. The only person I was matched with even close to where I live and it's a big city....

I was matched with someone I'd initially seen on another site (FitnessSingles.com), and had messaged, with seemingly no interest. We got through perhaps Step 2 or 3 of communication on eH, then, ''Poof!'' But no big deal.

About a year later, I was at a benefit ride and a good friend of mine introduced me to this, ''...really awesome, funny, girl [he] knows,'' and it was her. She didn't recognize me. We talked for about 10 minutes then I asked her, ''You don't remember me, do you?'' She replied that she didn't. When I told her who I was, she suddenly perked up and the conversation got a great deal more congenial.

Funny how finding out someone you were matched with on ''29 different levels of compatibility,'' can change your whole outlook. I guess I must clean up pretty well, too.

I was still living with my ex in the process of finding an apartment and taking my name off the lease, which took about three months unfortunately. I signed up for eH and one of my first six matches contained her! Can't blame eH for matching us together!

It was terribly embarrassing as we both viewed one anothers profiles but never said a word to each other. I remember seeing her name pop up and literally slamming my laptop screen down! Talk about uncomfortable...

Oh wow, I don't even want to think about how I would react if my ex popped up as a match. I just know I would be seriously trauamatized.

Yeah, it was pretty bad. Funny thing is that I just ignored it and never closed the match and what a surprise that she was constantly viewing my profile.

It's all good though, I met a pretty awesome woman about two weeks later and we had a great time dating until I had to leave the state. She was also a nurse with a young kiddo at home, which made it extremely difficult for us to ever see each other.

I just remember sitting on the balcony of our apartment having phone conversations with my new match for hours on end and seeing my ex just starring at me through the window

That happen to me twice! I met my now best friend of many years on another dating site. I convinced him to try EH and he got matched with me!
Also, a couple of months ago I was matched with my ex boyfriends best friend! How awkward is that!!!!

I was matched with my neighbor....like we literally shared a wall....

And a dad from my daughter's school. His daughter and mine are in the same class and are friends. I had already considered him prior to joining EH and thought he ran too cold for me.

A guy friend was matched with a teacher from our school.
