This is OK but you may want to expand on this by showing HOW you show your family and friends they are important to you.

The most important thing Brooke is looking for in a person is:
Integrity and honesty.

My best friend of the past 25 years. She and I have done a lot of growing and changing during that time and she's been at my side through a lot.
This OK, but here again you could expand on how she has helped you grow.

The three things which Brooke is most thankful for:

my family
my friends
my health
Personally I like to see more than just a list. You could also combine family and friends together and then add another thing that you are thankful for if you wanted.

Three of Brooke's best life-skills are:

Being a good friend and companion
Maintaining a network of close friends
Cooking for my family and friends
The one thing Brooke wishes MORE people would notice about her is:

My intelligence.
You have another thread on this one. Maybe you have gotten some ideas on how to expand this.

The things Brooke can't live without are:

cell phone (it keeps me in contact with my family) good
tooth brush & tooth paste - clean teeth make me smile (or something)
pets - my Beagle and cat.
chocolate - who doesn't love chocolate
love - makes the world go round
Make it more than just a list.

The first thing people notice about Brooke is:

My height, or lack thereof. The best things come in small packages :-)

Some additional information Brooke wanted you to know is:

Not at this time.
Not good in any section. This is the place to tell something about yourself that is not in any of the other sections.

My interests
Brooke typically spends her leisure time:

I enjoy the beach a great deal, I enjoy reading, and I enjoy going swimming in the river on a hot summer day.
This is an important section to talk about yourself. You should use all the available space to talk about what you like to do and activities that you like to participate in. If there are activities that you would like to try with your partner you can also mention them.

The last book Brooke read and enjoyed:

I'm actually reading a legal mystery right now by Lisa Scottoline that I'm enjoying. It's easy, entertaining reading.
According to my friends:
Brooke's friends describe her as:

Warm
Affectionate
Outgoing
Sweet
One thing that only Brooke's best friends know is:

I can't think of anything. I'm kind of an open book most of the time.
I will accept this but a lot of others are going to complain about it.
See notes above in red.

I actually re-did portions of my profile between the time I originally posted this and now... Here's the revised version ...

The one thing Brooke is most passionate about:
I'm most passionate about letting my family and friends know how important they are to me in any small or big way I can think of. Just keeping in touch with them, letting them know I'm thinking of them, making time for them...

The most important thing Brooke is looking for in a person is:
Integrity and honesty.

About Me
Basic Information

Occupation:

my health

Three of Brooke's best life-skills are:
Being a good friend and companion
Maintaining a network of close friends
Cooking for my family and friends

The one thing Brooke wishes MORE people would notice about her is:
My happy-go-lucky nature can sometimes mask the intelligence and deepness I harbor.

The things Brooke can't live without are:
cell phone (it keeps me in contact with my family)
tooth brush & tooth paste
pets
chocolate
love

The first thing people notice about Brooke is:
My height, or lack thereof.

Some additional information Brooke wanted you to know is:
I'm a big animal lover. I have one cat, and adore cats, but am a big fan of dogs, too. I have a happy and full life alone. But what I do want is someone in my life to share that happiness with, to enhance and enrich it.

My interests
Brooke typically spends her leisure time:
I enjoy the beach a great deal, I enjoy reading, and I enjoy going swimming in the river on a hot summer day. I watch some tv, but not a great deal. I enjoy cooking and reading up on new topics. If something catches my attention that I'm not very familiar with I enjoy learning more about it.

The last book Brooke read and enjoyed:

I'm actually reading a legal mystery right now by Lisa Scottoline that I'm enjoying. It's easy, entertaining reading.
According to my friends:
Brooke's friends describe her as:

(I did try to edit this part to add to it, and can't seem to get to it in the profile editing section!)

You've lost me already.. Just about everyone is passionate about family and friends. it doesn't have to be written.. Tell me someTHING(s) your passionate about

One word answers are the kiss of death. Expand on them, put the man your speaking of in your answer!

This is okay.. I usually suggest putting the persons name.

Same answer in 95% of the profiles I''ve read.
Friends and family can be one answer.. Use the space to attract someone with something different or unique!

Example: one of my answers is Squeezable Jelly.. I get comments on it in OC all the time..

Even if it's true about family and friends.. So far three questions all I know about you is family and friends!

I know this was addressed in another thread.. it's okay

Okay the answers are fine.. but expand on them..
Example;
Toothpaste.. How else would I make my teeth sparkle!
Pets.. My dog buster who take me for walks
Chocolate.. any kind any place any time! or with nuts!
Love.. I would scrap this for something else.

wrote :

put a little more humor into it..

Example. I am vertically challenged or My height or lack thereof.. "I always wanted to know what it felt like to dunk a basketball!"

Put your pets in the story.. I have one cat..Patches
The second part. could use a rewrite imo.

what do you read... Comic books/ newspapers.
what do you cook.. maybe a favorite dish.. I make a mean PB&J
Give a few examples in the story.

Trek, thanks for the feedback. I guess I could tone back the friends & family stuff a bit. Didn't realize how prominent it was in my profile until you pointed it out. My friends and family ARE that important to me, but I don't need to hit anyone over the head with that.

I didn't mean to sound so harsh in my reply to your profile.

You have some good stuff in your profile, You just need to think of different ways to say it.

Think of when you're reading your matches profiles and what commonalities do you read everyday, Then compare that to your profile..b/c it's almost the same for both genders.

Example your answer to the can't live without question...

Instead of saying your cell phone ( #1 family fued answer on most profiles) You could say: A lithium-ion battery: How else would my cell work!

No, I didn't take your input as being harsh. I took it as constructive criticism, which is what I'd opened myself up for here. lol You did bring up some good points. I need to be more creative and unique in my answers. My friends would tell you I'm one of a kind, and I need to let that shine through a bit more... right? I'm definitely giving some thought to what changes I want to make. Who knew coming up with a good profile could be so difficult?

Keep improving and expanding your answers. Your first version, I would have closed right away, assuming you were a free-weekend customer who never signed up for real.

I always write that the "passion" answer has to be your hook to get your matches to want to know more about you. It should be what your best friend would tell me about you, if she was trying to get me interested in you. Talk about that one (or at most two) thing that gets you out of bed in the morning. That can be a hobby or your job or whatever. Write about it in active terms and give an example if it helps.

Thank you. I really like that what you are all offering is concrete helpful advice and not too vague to be of any help. Thinking in terms of what gets me out of bed in the morning is very helpful advice.
