So... fairly new to eh and brand new to the boards. Have been having a blast reading through these posts and seeing all the helpful info and advice. So... I was hoping y'all would be kind enough to critique my profile for me. Your time in doing so is appreciated.

Personally I like to see more than just a list. You could also combine family and friends together and then add another thing that you are thankful for if you wanted.

My intelligence.

cell phone (it keeps me in contact with my family) good
tooth brush & tooth paste - clean teeth make me smile (or something)
pets - my Beagle and cat.
chocolate - who doesn't love chocolate

I enjoy the beach a great deal, I enjoy reading, and I enjoy going swimming in the river on a hot summer day.

I'm actually reading a legal mystery right now by Lisa Scottoline that I'm enjoying. It's easy, entertaining reading.

I'm a big animal lover. I have one cat, and adore cats, but am a big fan of dogs, too. I have a happy and full life alone. But what I do want is someone in my life to share that happiness with, to enhance and enrich it.

Trek, thanks for the feedback. I guess I could tone back the friends & family stuff a bit. Didn't realize how prominent it was in my profile until you pointed it out. My friends and family ARE that important to me, but I don't need to hit anyone over the head with that.

Keep improving and expanding your answers. Your first version, I would have closed right away, assuming you were a free-weekend customer who never signed up for real.

I always write that the "passion" answer has to be your hook to get your matches to want to know more about you. It should be what your best friend would tell me about you, if she was trying to get me interested in you. Talk about that one (or at most two) thing that gets you out of bed in the morning. That can be a hobby or your job or whatever. Write about it in active terms and give an example if it helps.
