You can set a required age range in your preferences, and set it to the highest priority (6 or 7) and then you won't get any matches outside of that age range.

As for height, you can indicate a preference, but they will send you matches of any height regardless. But I encourage you to give the shorter guys a shot.... there's some really great ones out there!

Putting that info in your profile in just the text areas isn't going to have any effect whatsoever on who you're matched with, though it may come across as a bit boorish or shallow to even the guys who meet your criteria. I would remove that from the written portion of your profile.

Hi there...I have been on here before, and I never paid for a subscription. I used the free times. This time i have decided to subscribe and I am finding that people are just not reading the profile. I state an age and height requirement and yet I am still getting matches for outside of my "must halfs" How do you make sure people actually read the profile and not just look at the "pretty face"?? I am getting tired of this and find it is wasting my time.
You could set your preferences so that you don't get matched with people outside the age range you want. When I get a match, I assume my age is OK with her, since it's not my fault if she doesn't know how to set her preferences.

Many people won't read your profile thoroughly, at least not at first, and some will see that they are outside what you say you want and will still contact you. I might do that myself if I thought we otherwise were a good match... because I've found that what most people say they want is not exactly what they want, or it's more like a list of their perfect partner who doesn't exist.

I think you're going to have this problem on any site.

I'm a fan of the "Something to Talk About" similarities. The more there are the more interested I am, and I'm really really interested if the rest of the profile lines up.

90% of the non-photo profiles I get don't have much written down in the profile so there isn't much of a chance to even guess if they would be a match.

At least your honest.

As I suspected too

Of course, I am sitting here thinking he is pretty lucky. Out of 100s of matches, I have yet to receive one that was physically attractive to me. So I have to read the profiles and hope for something to click. I don't close them out though - wait to see if they respond since I know they are only looking at the pictures anyway

Funnily enough I am surprised what I do and don't find attractive these days, and it's a lot different to what I found attractive in my early 20s, and Im in my early 30s now. I wonder if when I'm 80 I'll be going "wow look at that 60 year chick she is so smoking" :P

Let's just say my net has been widened.

Just out of curiosity, do you think the range of visual attractiveness you're seeing in your matches is similar to the range you encounter IRL when out and about?

I ask because someone, a guy though IIRC, mentioned that IRL they find less than 1 out of 100 women attractive. This just seemed pretty low to me.
