Sometimes reading profiles can be boring and cliche'. You also have to wonder how old some of the pics are...

So why doesn't eHarmony have a video clip upload option? Web cams are cheap and most cellphones/digital cameras have video functions. One could record a 30-60 second clip and post it to their profile. Even a you tube link could suffice. Regarding privacy, you tube enables one to lock their video to the general public. An audio/video clip can present someone's mannerisms, tonality and personality pretty well.

What do you think? Would you think this function would save you time and help you screen potential dates better than merely reading a profile? Would you ever upload a web cam interview or profile summary? You tube links are already present in the profile portion of the forum here. So why not have them in the actual dating profiles?

I think this would just become one in a line of many reasons to close someone. "No video posted or it was too poor of quality".

Plus, they would all have to be reviewed by eH staff first for appropriateness, which would be a huge resource suck...

You don't know how long I looked for the 9 photos in my library of digital photos. I don't take intentional pictures of myself. Adding a video to the collection would really put me under water with the tech-heavy crowd. I couldn't compete.

O holy cow. I didnt think of that. What a horible, or maybe even funny job that would be.
The subscription price would have to go up for sure.

That would have to mean a whole new forum would have to be created.

Webcam pictures usually suck, I don't even want to think about video. There IS a place to link 2 video's in your forum profile.

Yes, there is a place to link two videos to the forum profile. I stated that in the original post.

I'm suggesting why not have an area to upload videos on the paid eHarmony site. It's not a problem in this free forum, so why is there an issue in the paid eHarmony profile.

(Ever wonder why eHarmony's name sets off their own spellcheck?)
