How can I tell if someone is a paying member?

Is there a way to tell if someone is a paying member? I sent him my questions, and he replied, but I haven't heard from him since. Is there a way to tell if he is a member or just used the service during the FCW?

well did he reply the first time during FCW?
if yes, then there's a big chance he's non-paying.

Nope. No way to tell if they're a paying member or only around for a FCW.

If you were interested in him, just leave the match open until the next FCW and see if he responds then. If not, close him then and move on.

No there isn't.

Coincidentally, if you check out the boards, you will find that this si the #1 complaint that people have about eH.

Who knows, maybe you will be the straw that breaks the camels back, and eH finally gives in...

I doubt it, this site takes people's money and then gives them stock answers to any question they have.

You can check to see if a match has viewed your profile (unless they chose to be anonymous). If they have viewed your profile, send them the first guided communication questions or icebreaker. If no response in couple days from the match they: a) are non paying members or b) not interested in communicating with you but too afraid to hurt your feelings to close you out.

As others have no you cannot tell if someone is a paying member or not.

As an aside at any point in answering questions during a FCW you can put an alternate contact if you are not a paying member.

In addition if you look at your matches communication stage (after you sent 1st questions), you will see 2 different stages.
One will say Getting to know each other - It means that at least the matches whom you sent the questions viewed you (either anonymously or identifiable). You may consider keeping it open if you are interested in their profile. They probably are interested too.( but cant respond till next free weekend). Else they can close at later time.
The other stage will say only Introduction after you sent the questions.
It means your profile has not been viewed yet, but if it stays unchanged for long time- probably these are inactive matches, you can consider closing them with no regrets.
Also paid members may have additional signs to their profile attached such as Rely ID and/or Premium Profile, however it is not a definite sign they are paying members. (those service are paid for 1 year), but the membership options can be various. In other words you can purchase membership for 3 months and not renew it after, but the sign Premium profile would still be displayed.
