I received a match 2 days ago. He requested communication and wanted to me answer first set of questions. I was about to answer questions when it came up "profile no longer available".........to be honest, the picture somehow didn't look quite believable . . . . this guy was georgous and the pose was very striking (in a respectable way).Do you think it was a hoax or scam of some kind?

Dear Rena450,

The "Profile no longer available" message will appear whenever an eHarmony member's account is closed, either by the member or by eHarmony. While it is not possible to say for certain what the case was with this particular match, we encourage you to trust your instincts, and if a match seems "too good to be true," we ask that you not hesitate to share your concerns with us.

We take member match concerns very seriously. We investigate each report, and follow-up with the member. In the future, you can e-mail any concerns to matchconcerns@eharmony.com.

All the best,

-Renee

To add to what Renee has said.

I don't know if guys get Glamor Shot photos but I get some matches that have Glamor Shot photos. A professionally taken photo is not necessarily an indication that the profile is fake. There will be clues in what is written.

The person may have decided to remove their profile because their subscription has ended or they may have decided they have found "the one". If I was dating someone that had progressed to the point where I was feeling strongly about her I would have quit initiating communication with matches long before we had gotten to the exclusive, close our accounts point. But that is just me.

eHarmony may close an account because they do not meet the requirements to be using the site. The thing that comes to mind would be that their divorce is not final yet. This does not mean that they are fake (can't use the other word or I would get modded).

Consider the Profile as a whole...

Did the text in the Profile seem "scammy"?
Like, did they write in broken English, missing words, etc?

If so, EH probably yanked the Profile, as it was probably a scammer.

On the other hand, as Renee has mentioned, the other way a Profile go "can away", is if they Close their account completely.

Since you were trading questions with him, I suspect this reason is pretty unlikely, and he probably was a scammer.
