So, finally, we reach open communication after two days of GC. She e-mailed me before I could e-mail her. Looked good so far, but never received a reply. After I hit reply though, I did receive a down for maintenance error. Nonetheless, the message was listed in my sent box. So I am not sure if she got it or not last night. Now, I do not want to look overzealous and too eager to e-mail her again. It could be looked on poorly.

What should I do?

Kind of a tough one.

If I would have gotten that system error, I would have turned around and sent the email again right away, with a comment, "I am not sure my first email was sent, so lets try again".

That way if it was sent twice, no biggie.

Now you are kind of stuck.
I would just send another email asking if she got my last email, and explain you aren't sure because you got some sort of weird error message back from EHarmony.
That way, if she didn't get it, she will email you back telling you.
If you don't get a response, then you know she probably did get your first email, and blew you off...

Good luck!

True, but why wouldn't she of just closed out the match if that would be so?

I agree with Scott. I had a similar thing happen, except I was on the receiving end of the email. Messages tend to get lost during "maintence" periods. Better to be safe than obsess about it, right?

I guess I am slow tonight, but are you suggesting I should followup and say just wanted to confirm that you've received my last e-mail, as I never head back from you?

Since she took the initiative and e-mailed me before I e-mailed her in OC, wouldn't that be a good sign? Just don't want to look to needy or anxious.

No, no, no - i am typing as fast as I can.

Do not email her again about this. Call up customer service toll free for a definite answer. They are open 24/7. Stay on the line even if you hear they are busy.

Yeap. Thought of that already. Called and told me they could not release that info. I was told to resend again by them to be sure. Guess I could just send a e-mail follow up to her if I do not hear back from her by Sunday.

I don't know how they could say that. Once I called about something similar and cs told me it had not gone through, apologized and told me to resend it.

I don't know by the way if anything in OC is a good sign, but there are plenty of bad signs. Anyway it is probably better to write her in a few days if you're not sure and to phrase it in such a way not to appear needy or anxious. Too bad you are not further into OC then you could see definitely if she received it? At least once, if not more, I thought something was lost and it did get through when I checked.

Called again this morning and I got a clearer answer that she did in fact read the message a couple of days ago. Keep in mind, it was a steadily day by day reply until now. Still unclear on why no response. All she asked was how I was and that she wanted to learn more about me. I replied back stating I was great and continued on asking her about her work.

Hmm.. pretty bewildered on the no response.

Don't know what kind of e-mail you sent her but I think you are over reacting and over thinking this.

It only takes a few minutes to answer the GC questions. However, I have been asked things in OC e-mails that required a good bit of thought to answer properly and took quite a while to type up. Give her some time.

You should also be pursuing your other matches.
