Okay, we are all aware of the complaints posted here. Yes, and we do know there are numerous ones. However, are there any good qualities we like about Eharmony or maybe not?

The good....when I first joined I liked the fact that I got lots of matches. It seems I received lots more than many and that is probably because I live in a very large city. It is nice to know that there are some great men out there. But I have been a member for about 7 months and when it runs out in ten days that is it. Despite all my energy into this, my positive attitude and willingness to really try to work the process--the furthest I got was Pen pals with most. I had 3 meetings all arranged until they werecancelled at the last moment. (mostly I think the men in my case were not really ready to move on from their grief of losing their spouse) I have one I am in open communication with now and I sense another dragging their feet. So, bottom line, eharmony probably met their end of the bargain but the participants --about 300 of them that I was matched with did not work the process. It makes me think of one of the best things I read on this site and that was --are you really willing to pay all this money for a pen pal? If you sign up --work it--give it energy --have as your goal actually meeting as many people as possible to determine if there is worth more effort. At least I met one of my goals which was to find out if this system would work for me . It did not but at least I know I gave it my best shot. I sometimes wonder if the younger crowd--maybe in their 30's are more willing to be flexible and "work it" but who knows. All I know is that I can now put this idea behind me and continue to lead my best life albeit alone for the time being. .

It's a long and arduous process, but I really do like all of the matches that I have met (even if I wasn't attracted to them for a relationship.)

I honestly believe that there is something to the EH system! If you have honestly answered the personality profile questions I think the system really does provide good, fundamentally compatible matches!

At least I do get a few dates through eHarmony. Something that has not occurred through other sites or IRL.

This sounds like it may be worth continuing.

If you’re getting around one match / day, and it sounds like at least close to achieving one date / month, I wouldn’t call that a bad experience – especially if you are also satisfied with the quality of your matches.

I managed about one actual meeting / month, with about 30% getting into relationships.

I can’t speak specifically to any experience with bereaved matches, but I would imagine an older crowd is less attuned or aggressive with online dating to begin with. That leads me to my conclusion, which is that you should stir some excitement and momentum in your matches. An excellent profile, interest and motivation in communication, and steering toward meeting.

I met someone thru eHarmony..a man who swept me off my feet and we married 12-31-05..I was so in love.

But, something everyone MUST remember, persons you meet via internet/long distance dating sites--you do not know anything about this person and they could be hiding much about their life. Do not rush into a relationship with someone you meet online.

I guess I am saying, you must be all the more careful when using any dating sites---take time to know this person and listen to red flags.

We married, and two weeks from this Wednesday we will be divorced. What I didnt know is that my husband is a sexual addict and has quite a past. Much pain..too late.

I'm sorry you are going through this.

People often say this about meeting people online but I think you have to be careful regardless of how you met someone. Just because you meet someone in Starbucks does not mean they will be any more "safe".
