When you log on to eHarmony it is secure, as it should be. But once you are logged on you are no longer on a secure site.

Seems to me that once you initiate the log on process you should be on a secure site until you log off.

The security (SSL / HTTPS) is there to encrypt your username and password during the login process. Once you're logged in, your credentials are stored in a session variable or pehaps in a local cookie on your computer so you're fine. Any payment transaction you initiate on the site are also secured. God I'm a geek sometimes.

My point was that once I have logged in my communication with my matches is no longer on a secure site.

If your question "Is this a better way to do business?" the answer is yes. With the power of computers today, any site should be able to afford a certificate and have all their traffic encrypted.

If this isn't your question, then the response above is correct. The person that built the site decided for each page whether it should be encrypted or not.
