A very small token showing that you have paid attention can sometimes be appropriate. It must be small, and easily stored in a pocket or small purse. I have brought consumable items on first dates with eH matches. They are still sealed, so that my match does not have to worry.

Sometimes I have gone a bit too far, wrapping a chocolate bar in a length of ribbon. I have to say though, that the lady then returned the ribbon around a jar of honey! In every case, I have later been asked where to get more of that chocolate (organic, dark, etc.)
