I made someone brownies for the first meeting/date. I said in my profile that I like to bake brownies and cupcakes, and he did mention in an email when I could make him some.

I've brought food to share on a first meeting, with mixed results. Is an organic dark chocolate bar (with crystallized ginger) and some strawberries too much?

I am planning a meeting with a long-distance match with which I have been communicating daily for a month, and need feedback.

As for the brownies after discussing them, go for it! Personally, I'd be flattered. Yum! (Will there also be milk?)

getting flowers on a first meeting is awkward- there's nowhere to put them.

gifts are just strange. i agree with everyone else- wait til the second or third date.

Alright, alright, I get everyone's point here. It wasn't going to be flowers and it would be somewhat of a stretch to say it was a romantic gift.

Would it have made a difference if I said it was going to be with an LDR?

no, because it's not a relationship yet.

unless you are going to that person's house, then bring a bottle of wine or something as a hostess gift.

No, the fact that it's an LDR doesn't make a difference in my book. You still have never met before and aren't in a relationship yet. scarlet's response is right on the money
