Hey everybody, I have a question about guided comm.We all get email notices about a communication coming through and most people check their email at least twice a day. What is the standard amount of time to wait before answering questions/sending must haves ect? Some poeple seem quick to respond and others take forever. Does it show something negative if a response comes to fast?

My range of experience is limited (just joined last month) but my responding matches usually do so within 24 hours. I try to do the same. Many are within a few hours. The timing is usually a function of when someone is at their computer and that is going to vary greatly depending on peoples jobs and life schedules. After 10 days or so without a response then I close the match out figuring they are not active. At my age range (50s) I doubt many are hanging on to communicate on free weekends - more likely they are simply gone (which accounts for most matches as you likely know already).

Good luck to you!!

Answer your emails and send any desired correspondence "at your earliest convenience" which usually means at what ever time one may have set aside for this purpose. Then one has time to sift through and not be interupted with other things.

I'd say that on average, people take about 24 hours to respond. However, it varies from a few hours to a few days. I'd recommend responding whenever is convenient for you, and not worry about exactly how fat or slow that is.

Personally, I'm off work due to an injury, so I'm on the computer a lot. I respond to communication quickly, and I don't care how it looks.

There was one guy I was really attracted to. Tall, handsome, LOVED his profile. Sent him questions.

Nothing. I was really bummed out. He seemed to be the best match for me. Sent him a nudge a week later, SURE he was 'gone'.

I got a response within hours of my nudge. We both happened to be online at the same time. Made it to OC by early the next day.

He says he usually only gets on a few times a week, not every day. Asks me tons of questions, I write pages and pages. He promises he's going to write longer mails, then is too tired. (Probably from reading my novels )

But I like this guy, a lot from what I've seen, so I'm going to see where it goes.

However, I do have about 20 1st questions out there with no responses....maybe I should start closing them...

I respond within 1-2 days. I don't care how it looks or if it goes against some stupid unwritten "rule" of dating. Whatever. Plus, I hate playing games. I take longer if I'm out of town on vacation.

If I'm at the computer, I respond. Just like in real life. There's no game to be played here. This isn't junior high.

I have one of these matches, who takes forever to answer. Her rate of answering the GC questions is @ 1 a month. So for 3 months we are now to verge on the Open communication. Hopefuly by the next month she will reply, and accept my first message. That is absolutely the slowest moving in-communication match.( how long will it be before we meet- she lives only 15 miles away. Hope it won't take her 15 months, to make her mind )

I have my e-mail up anytime I am home or at work. So I will usually respond very quickly. Sometimes with Second Questions it will take me several hours because I want to take some time to think about the answer.

When I have a match that does not respond within a day or two at the most then I just consider that they are not that interested in me or serious about finding a date.
