When someone mentions their significant other. I had a profile with with something along the lines of " I like to do x and x, and spending time with my family and my girlfriend.

Why would someone even put that in there? And if you had a girlfriend/boyfriend why would you be on eharmony?

I like a photo.
Part of chemistry is physical attraction.
I took a chance and went out with a guy who had no photo & was older and it will NEVER happen again!All I heard all night was how beautiful I am~how beautiful my smile is~how beautiful my eyes were~how great I look...yes,it's nice to hear all that(it never gets old,usually)BUT he said it every 2-3 minutes for over an hour!
Needless to say he was NOT attractive and looked my dad's age group.

Taking too long (beyond one week) to respond to my questions in guided communication (I prefer fast track, but I must oblige to the match who prefers GC).

Call me shallow - but a match who is same or shorter than me. I'm not a very tall woman either.

Photos - if none is displayed, I understand, some people are less open than others. I don't mind requesting it, but if no reply for a certain amount of time (let's say more than a week), that deserves a close in my book!

I agree with a previous post that if a person mentions God or church more than once they are closed immediately. That's just me. Someone else reading that type of profile may have their heart skip a beat with excitement...that's what make the world go around.

I actually don't mind if a woman hasn't completed her profile if she is attractive and what she did write was okay. I have found that most of the time...at least for my female matches they are not paying members because for women profiles mean a lot.

Should the same criteria be applied to women -- romantic evenings cuddling or walk on beach = CLOSE because she's lonely or horny?

Like many, turnoffs include the lack of a picture as well as an incomplete profile. My personal turnoff is the use of the word "travel".
