I could be mistaken but a few weeks ago I believe that Lori made the comment that she was not allowed to use eHarmony in her search for a match / date / partner.

Now to me this makes no sense at all to prohibit employees from using the product that they create, sell or support. How better to actually understand how the product works than to be a user.

Maybe eHarmony upper management would care to comment on this policy. All you users what are your thoughts on this?

I think they're just worried about someone cooking the books so all the hot matches go to them and no one else.

I expect that it is just seen as a conflict of interest (or that there might be a perception that it's a conflict). They are here to work for eH (and in that capacity work with the members) and not advance their own interests.

I do think that the level of information that they are privy to, including through significant contact with members, gives them a lot of insight into how the product works or doesn't work. I don't see it as necessary that they actually be members...

It would allow them to experience all the actual frustration first hand, rather than rely on theory as to why the 29 dimensions are so great.

Maybe a requirement for employment should be to have potential employees (who are single) fork over $60 for a 1 month membership, then see if they still want to work for eH after the membership ends.
No conflict of interest if they're denied membership AFTER employment.

I will have to think about the conflict of interest bit some.

Of course I could view this as a testimony from eHarmony that they don't have faith in their own product and so prevent their employees from using it.

Now, you just know that if they were subscribed and found success that people would be accusing them here of having some sort of inside track...lol.

lol...good point!

"Well of course you had success...you can see all the profiles and pick the best ones for yourself!"

Either way, there's no winning for eH; therefore, the bigwigs make the decision that they can't be members and no accusations can be made.

Good question. I read that comment too and I was stunned. I would have thought that EH would be encouraging the single and looking employees to use the EH product.
