The ongoing complaint on eH is Active (paying) users are matched with Dead End (self explanatory) users. It is a high time to change the matching system. I'm proposing a petition to eH for a new matching system that will match Dead End users with Dead End users, they cannot communicate with each other to begin with, and to match Active users with Active users. After all we are paying to eH to find our happily-ever-after.
Don't you realize it is all a marketing ploy? They want to show those who left the site "Look! matches are waiting for you so please come back!" To those of us on this end, we need to be made aware that the "match" is an expired member so we don't waste our time reaching out to him/her.
I appreciate your input and agree with you on the marketing ploy. I do a fair bit of marketing and use "Bait" and "Call to Action" myself. But when I get my new lead/client, all tricks aside, no bull, no games, only a highly professional service, fiduciary duties and all kind of good stuff . I read a lot of demands to be notified of inactive match. Lets explore this option and I'll use myself as an example.
I get my new batch of matches, hopping that this time I've got the one and only. As I open new matches I see that some or most are inactive. I close them down, frustrated and disappointed I go on eHA to start a new thread complaining as to why I get clearly marked inactive matches and why, oh why am I not being matched with Active users only.
Personally, I would prefer to bypass the quantity and get fewer but quality (active) matches. I want to get what I pay for.
Believe me, we've asked. The ehaha folks have asked our input a few times and the unanimous complaint was being matched with non-payers. And guess what? They won't address it.
Welp, I learned something new.
I had no idea you could get EH for free...
Why do I feel like such a sucker now?...
When exactly did they start doing that?
So(other than being free) what is the advantage for these freeloaders.....free users??
If they ever did this I would just close my account.
I'm not going to sign up with all of the matches that I get that I am just not interested in. I don't know which of them are paying members or if it would even make a difference but yeah. That would be the end of it for me.

...I was hopping you would say this the fact that eHA conducted research on this issue is a comforting thought. Anyone in marketing and/or sales understand that there is more than one kind of NO!. The basic three are- NO, not now ( eventually leading to Yes); NO, convince me ( with strong facts on hand leads to Yes); and finally NO, get lost!
The eHA folks are aware of the situation and their inaction to address the issue can be interpreted as No, not now or NO, convince me. The poll is on the top of the page, lets convince them.

Of course they're not going to address it as long as we keep paying. I've been on eH at various intervals since they started, and I will tell you, when the company changed hands a few years ago, things started to go downhill.
The eH of today borders on being a scam. As I've mentioned before, they barely skirt the borders of what's legal.
