One month on eH: too soon to throw in the towel?

I heard a lot that my profile didn't portray me well. Personalities don't always translate well to the screen, especially when you're dealing with intelligence or humor.

To be honest, I had a "type" in mind, but when I decided to take a risk and go against that, it was then that I found someone I was truly compatible with.

I agree, EH selects your matches, with very little input or selection options. I have nothing in common with any of the matches I received so far. I do wish there was a better option for selecting matchs. I do like Match.com's method, you put in your criteria and do a search and hundreds of people come up on the search it is up to you to see who would interest you, but I like that better then getting one or two people a week who don't even haven anything in common with me.

Give it time and be open to people who may not seem like a good match. I am dating someone at the moment that I almost didn't go out with because we didn't look like a good match on paper.
In person, we clicked and have a great time together.

I threw in the towel after my first month, then I came back not long after and met my ex whom I was with for 2 years. I hate thinking about it because it ended on a non-mutual note, but I've found the site can work.

Maybe quit, find out what you really want, and come back with a clearer picture of how to convey yourself and what you want? That's what I did, and immediately met up with who I felt (for 2 years anyway) was the girl of my dreams. Now that I'm back here, I feel like I get too many matches going into OC, and I'm not that good looking.

It's probably just timing in most cases.
