I too have been going through the same thing. I've had an account for about 2wks, paying member for almost 1wk. Out of the 95 matches so far, less then 10 have even viewed my profile, (and then there's a few that close the match without even looking).
Wouldn't it make sense for eh to put profiles on hold if they haven't logged in after a certain amount of time (like a couple of months)? Instead of sending 'dead' matches?

I also think that EH should indicate whether a member is active like other dating sites do. They should also have an indicator when someone is online, and give a person the choice to be shown as online or offline when they are online. I think that this will give people a better idea of who to/not to communicate with.

I too get the same thing, no responses etc. I aggree with alot of the posts regarding value for the dollar. Yes it takes some patience, yes it can be frustrating. The free weekends are frustrating, you start communications and on monday the account is closed. Or things are going along fine, then communications stop-ie they get interested in someone else. I assume that the ladies are getting the same number of matches as I am, so it does go both ways. My biggest complaint is 90% of matches do not post photos, I as a general rule and a few bad dates later, I do not even look at them anymore. Not that Im gods gift or anything, its more the fact as a divorced father and the economy I don't have unlimited resources to go out on dates that I would not be attracted to. I know what that sounds like, but, it does take both physical the mental attraction, that is what I am saying. And I am not looking for a "Barbie".
Think of it this way, if they don't respond or look, then its not meant to be!!
Here is my advice for you
1. Non paying members generally don't write much in their profiles-look for the ones that actually write something about themselves.
2. Do not be afraid to write to men, we like this, not many women will take the inititive and communicate first.
3. Use recent or photos that show the real you, nothing worse than meeting ur date and they look nothing like their pix. ie 10yr old pix, photo cropped etc.
4. Don't lie about ur age, I have had dates that were easily 10yrs older than I.
5. Touchy one-weight-have at least one full pic of u, if all I see is a head shot, I am looking for clues for the rest of u. Many times out at clubs I see attractive women, I look at their face, imagine a photo on EH and say, based on a head shot I would not communicate with you, and then look at the rest and find her perfectly acceptable.
fyi-I don't mind ladies with some meat on their bones!! But not obese, this is just me, sounds bad I know, but its what Im attracted to and am just being honest about it.
6. I generally give everyone a chance, no photo profiles I will leave up for 2-3 months, they have to write, then I start closing, If I write to you and no response, then 1-2 months then I close. If we are communicating and it stops, again 1-2 months, a nudge, then close.
I figure if that happens, Someone else came along that interested them more, but I also leave the option open as that relationship may not work out and they might come back. But generally if nothing starts within a 2 months then it probably won't and move on.
7. Have pics that show you, I see alot with friends, I think which one is you??? Chances are I will be more attracted to your friend!! And Take your shades off!!

I think we are all in the same boat. It would be nice if those who are not active, or non paying to at least turn off their receive new match settings.

Just signed up two weeks ago and have already recieved 200 + matches. Dissapointed in that a majority have no photos or e-harmony does not seem to have a filter for height. I am 6 ft 2 and set my setting at the highest level but am constantly being matched with women who are 5ft 4 or under. I have also recieved several requests for communication but only 10 that seem to have looked at my profile. Have started communication with 4 matches but e-harmony definitely needs to do a better job in matching or paying attention to settings. Many of my matchs with not photos have limited or one word answers in thier profile.

Once they are a closed match it deletes the record of it being viewed. So they are probably viewing then closing and it removes the record of them viewing

Or at least be told if they are subscribing? (even if it is an extra service)

Hi everyone. I'm new to eHarmony Canada. I started on Thursday. I've received 16 matches so far and I've noticed that most of them haven't bothered to look at my profile. Is that typical?
You are not alone. I had over two hundred matches and I managed to get about thirty or forty actual views (including anonymous ones) during my three month stint. Kind of exacerbates the lonely feeling, right?

Don't go by who's viewed you or not. I just assume people are opting for the 'anonymous' setting in their preferences to do so.

So the day we sign up we do not get matched up with all of our matches?
I've wondered that, too. When I first signed up (this is my second time around EH), I received 5-6 matches a day (free weekend or not). Now it's one or two.

So, you're still getting as many as one or two a day?
